Re: UHD release announcements
We love Holy Grail in this house, but we've re-bought it on DVD and Blu (with VHS before) too many times. It would have to be something spectacular for another upgrade.

Freaked is coming to 4k this fall from Umbrella and Drafthouse Films. Such a batshit crazy movie in a good way.

I somehow missed Krull back in the 80s, how does it hold up?
I tried watching the Flash Gordon movie not long ago and I was already listing it on eBay before the end credits finished.

If you don't like FG then I doubt you would like Krull although Krull plays it a lot straighter than FG.
Krull is still a little campy but is very earnest and sincere. A buddy and I rewatched it not long ago and we both still found it very enjoyable but we also both love Flash Gordon.
The score in Krull is great, the acting is solid and the practical effects still look pretty darn good most of the time. The major weakness is the overall story and trying to rip off Star Wars, like every other movie was doing at the time.
But I love it and never tire of it. Many movies from my childhood I have abandoned long ago and didn't hold up to repeated viewings but this one sticks around. It is fun and also dark. It has more in common with The Black Hole than Flash Gordon to me.

Watched Casper a couple years ago around Halloween and it holds up pretty well if you ask me. Might consider the 4K when the price is low enough.

If you haven't opened it by now, willing to bet it won't be opened on Halloween.

Re: UHD release announcements
Even though I own Krull on Blu and it was quite inexpensive to pick up, I would be willing to drop up to $40 on a Krull steelbook. It feels right that Krull gets the Steelbook treatment. I watched this film multiple times with my family when it was on VHS back in the day, and recently caught it on Cable (or Tubi?) and it looked fantastic and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would (it has aged pretty well for a fairly special effects heavy fantasy film).
I look at films like Clueless, and cannot find a real reason why a film like Clueless gets a steelbook other than to cater to SB collectors, but it feels right that Krull gets the SB treatment, if that makes sense. I dunno, maybe in Beverly Hills folks show off bling gold and other metals, so it makes sense that this latest release of Clueless brings the bling to the packaging of the movie.
I also do not feel like To Catch A Thief lends itself to a steelbook treatment, however, I have never seen the film but hear it is fantastic and actually appreciate that the first time I am considering owning this movie I would be picking it up in a deluxe format. Maybe a thief steels from safes/banks, places with lots of steel...I can kind-of see why it works that this film gets the steelbook packaging.
I do like that Çasper (a straight up classic kid/family friendly film in my opinion) is getting the deluxe packaging but again, it makes a film that is rather affordable on standard blu/UHD format into a double dip that become surprisingly expensive for fans of this film.
I just realized that I kind-of provided a reason for why a studio/boutique label would want to offer the above films in a steelbook format, lol. Not a SB collector but you all can tell I am trying to talk myself into buying the above films in the SB format. I do have to watch my finances a bit more nowadays, but all of these announcements make me groan and wish I could just throw money at building up my film collection with a bit more abandon.

Anime Limited announced Her Blue Sky (Autumn/Winter 2025) in Japan Expo (France). It's unclear if North America will be included or not. This movie should be a Toho title, so it's also possible GKIDS may release this here. Movie is streaming on Netflix https://www.netflix.com/title/81427482.
