One can dream. But then again, the storyline would get cut way down to fit it into an 80 minute movie just like Injustice. Unless they do a 2 parter.

If they did adapt it I'd almost think you'd have to do a 2 parter just like Death of Superman. Otherwise there's not enough time to establish Bruce getting hurt and Az taking over and the chaos it causes.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

Now that I have Max, I was thinking about going through and watching or re-watching these. Do they go in any timeline order or are they all just standalone movies?

I have seen several and they all seem to be mostly standalone movies but didn't want to jump to one and when I should have watched one before.

I almost think Knightfall would need to be multiple parts. The trade paperbacks for that arc are three chunky books.

Found this write up. Sounds like only 16 were in any sort of story arc.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

I realize it’s been out for a long time but I finally watched Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I thought it was mostly pretty good.

The story was pretty entertaining and the mashup worked pretty well. Some good funny moments mixed in with some good action sequences. Surprisingly a lot of kills and blood. Even a decapitation of a Arkham guard which really took me by surprise.

Some of the character designs weren’t my favorite and I also feel like some of the voices are a bit off. Also I was a bit surprised that Splinter never shows up or that April is never mentioned.

Also I wonder if there will ever be a sequel to this considering the post credits scene. I know it’s been a bit though and nothing more has happened (aside from comics) so maybe nothing more will happen in terms of a sequel.

Overall I enjoyed it and would likely watch it again.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

I wasn't that impressed by the newest one, Justice League: Warworld. Unless you're a big Jonah Hex or Warlord fan, it's not essential. Probably its most noticeable aspect is the R rating, they definitely leaned into it with a couple of brutally violent sequences and a couple of the character designs are sexed up for lack of a better word.

I did get the impression this is the first animated DC production in 4K to take full advantage of HDR.

New Batman movie for Prime Video. But, this is obviously geared more for children

Not fond of the thick line art style but I am a sucker for this story, so... Cautiously optimistic, I guess.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

I wonder how far apart the 3 movies will be released. Hopefully not big gaps between them. Looks like the first part releases 1/9 digitally according to the AppleTV listing.

Parts 1 and 2 were put out as 4K SteelBooks which seem like blatant money grabs.

That's a shame. I've been patiently waiting for all three parts to be released in a single set.

1 was bad, but 2 they mucked up even worse imo.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

I just don't understand how so many things like this get fucked up. Just follow the damn source material. Ugh.

I haven't watched it yet and was waiting until all the parts had been released. Hope I like it better than OldBoy did.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

It's my understanding DC's animation has fallen prey to some of the corporate changes instituted under Gunn's sweeping control of DC films. They had to rush these Crisis movies out long before they wanted.

A faithful adaptation of Crisis On Infinite Earths would likely require 2-3 full seasons unless you cut the cast down to nothing, but then it wouldn't be Crisis On Infinite Earths.
