I guess the review I heard made it sound like Batman plays a fairly large part. It sounded like Constantine's part is fairly big too but it definitely sounded like Batman is in quite a bit of the film.

Guess we will see soon enough. Another very pretty looking Steelbook, that's for sure.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

I picked up the steelbook today for free using my Cartwheel perk. Was going to save it for next week with The Arrival, but I guess I'll wait on a price drop for that one now.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

You get points every time you shop at Target, as long as you scan the cartwheel app when you check out. There are different levels for points (called perks) that you can redeem, and one of them is a free movie $19.99 and under. This is the second time I've used it, and I already have enough for a third movie now.

I don't get jazzed up to much anymore for these SteelBooks. I think most know I was crazed with them. Now, I'll just get if same price as a normal version and don't have to go too much out of my way. Or if 3D region free from another country and no 3D in states. But this Justice League Dark is nice. As is the upcoming Doctor Strange...

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

I'm not obsessing over Steelbooks in general, but have a good streak going with the MCU 3D sets and with these DCU releases. Will keep acquiring them as I'm able.

I'm still surprised that those Graphic Novels + Blu Ray + HD Digital releases were as limited as they were. I scored a few of them, but might have grabbed more if I had known they would be so scarce.

Watched JL: Dark. It was good, but nothing special. Far too short to really have a good story.

I'm not normally one for special packaging but I've been getting these DC animated Steelbooks from Target for a while. I kind of wish I had collected them from the beginning but oh well. The only other packaging I'm kind of a sucker for is the digibook type but they don't seem to be as frequent these days.

First time I've read anything about this. How many check-out are we talking before a perk is available. We don't do as much shopping there as they want for us to get the perk.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

Guess I spoke too soon about my Target having these Steelbooks in stock. Went after work tonight and no luck despite the website showing one in stock at my store. Tried doing an in-store pickup order but it mysteriously went out of stock as I was checking out.

Mike, I saw several at my location. Do you still need one?

Thanks for the offer but I found one on eBay that only came out to a couple bucks more and bought it there already.

First I heard of it too, I looked it up and it appears to be a pilot program in select locations right now.

I'm not really sure. It's based on overall dollars spent. Since we have a RedCard and they have a large grocery section, we end up there at least once a week if not more.

Yep, we are in St. Louis, so I didn't realize it was a pilot program. We were in Denver a couple months ago, and it looks like they are on the pilot program as well, so I assumed it was just everywhere

Thanks. Explains why I've never heard of it. But in reality, since their grocery sections in this area are pitiful and lesser quality than other stores in the area, there is no way we would probably ever buy enough there anyway. We get similar rewards at the store we do frequent for groceries.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

Welp, despite ordering it in January, I've been put on backorder for JLD until March for the steelbook. Hopefully I'll be able to swing by a Target or two this week (I've been looking for a way to use my perk as well) and grab a copy if there is one to grab. That way if it ships (which I don't have confidence in), I rather have two copies than none at all. *sigh*, though might still end up that way. I was looking forward to this one.

You could always return the second copy (that would be the shipped copy you didn't get for free with Perks anyway).
Sucks that they didn't ship your pre-ordered copy. That's lousy.

True, I certainly could...though I would offer it up here before I did that. Way too many people who don't get one of these suckers and then spend the next 6 months trying to find a copy (see Assault on Arkham for me personally).

Target.com's pre-ordering service is very unreliable in my experience. I've had fairly ordinary BD pre-orders go on back-order immediately. I ended up waiting more than a month past release for Daredevil Season One.

It wouldn't bother me if it did end up taking a month as long as the SOB actually still shipped. What I'm afraid of is that they pull something out of DeepDiscountDVD's playbook and cancel the thing. Then I'm left with ZERO options except to pay Ebay inflated price or get lucky at a swap shop.

Re: DC Animated Universe Films

You know I watched some of JLD. Might finish tonight since snow day tomorrow! Not bad this far and one of the better thus far. Hopefully it continues and finishes strong. Constantine is pretty cool and didn't know he had that supernatural powers or magic or whatever...

Matt Ryan as he did on the live action CONSTANTINE series does a solid job voicing John on JLDARK.

True to form, checked a Target on the way home and they had zero of the steelbook (course plenty of just the bluray and dvd, and even one deluxe). Guess I'm waiting the month or whenever. Argh :/
