Mine has shipped... is in my state and due to be delivered Saturday. The pending charge on my card has now dropped off. So it looks like I got this for free. Will just return the one I got from TCM to Amazon.
I'm curious, Dex, did the set arrive today?

This set is looking better and better after reading impressions of the Saw collection and Exorcist Anthology.

I didn't get one either. The sequels are ok, but all I really wanted was the effin' mono track on the first movie and I am not buying a $100 box set to get it.

It's amazing how hard getting those damn mono tracks can be.

I didn't get the set, either. I got the first one last year on sale for 9.99 and I might buy 4 and 5 next month if they hit 5 bucks.

I got one yesterday! Pypal still shows as pending even though my order was cancelled. As soon as I got the dreaded cancellation, and 30% coupon email. I let it go and forgot all about getting this from TCM. Honestly, I ordered almost as a joke, and really thought every order out there would get canceled.
In fact when the package came I just figured it was something else.
But behold, the Halloween set is here! Just thrilled! I was going wait for a huge sale like maybe on Black Friday or something. Now I'm set. There may be hope you may still get one if ordered through TCM.

I'd also suggest everyone check your credit card statements too when if you did get a copy. Who knows maybe you ended up getting it for free if they did indeed cancel it

Most Internet stores will balance their books every three months or so, which is when they would discover they shipped out a lot more merchandise than was paid for. Don't be surprised when TCM charges you in a couple of months.

Is this set the only HD version which has ever included the mono except for shitty downmixes?

I'm not sure? Did the original blu (the one where everyone bitched about the color timing, & thats why we got a new one last year) have a downmix too?

looks like the original anchor bay disc has the mono, though it was lossy. If you go to an fye or any used store, you can prob find it. This is also disc 2 of the big boxset as well

The original BD is a no go because of the whacked out color timing. What I should have said was that I wanted the 35th anniversary edition w/ the proper mono. I would like to think that at the very least Anchor Bay would do a running change with the individual release, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

While I don't expect the set to ever reach $20 again (legitimate pricing or not), maybe I'll bite if it (or the 10 disc version) ever gets into the $60-$75 range.

Re: Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to blu-ray

I received my set the other day from Amazon.ca and it arrived quickly in great condition. I can't wait to dig through the set, and I'm happy the original mono mix is finally preserved the right way for the first time on blu-ray. It's been tough to enjoy the film with the lousy remix since the dvd days. Also the mono mix on the dvds were awfully transferred and low in volume sounding, compared to past(pre-AB) vhs releases which had nice full scary audio and atmosphere.

I don't follow Halloween that much, so I don't know what's in all these different releases.
Some which have done the comparison believe the Canadian triple feature contains better-looking transfers for a couple of the films.

Re: Halloween: The Complete Collection is coming to blu-ray

It's gotten down to $101 on Amazon. I'm going to hold out for at the bare minimum of $90.

Also, did I hear right that there's defects to this thing? Should I hold out for replacements. *Will* there be replacements?

The only thing that seems seriously wrong are a few audio sync problems on Halloween 4.
