I was thinking of The Following (which has become terrible in its third season for those wondering) when I advanced that idea. I haven't been trolling through old, unused horror scripts.

Didn't one of the DTV Hellraiser sequels use a similar concept?

It was David Schow's take on the script for FvJ - which had a group of Freddy worshipers resurrecting him

Something like that would be cool to see done properly but yet in a way I feel like I wouldn't want to see it for a while. Just because something like that is gimmicky and for the next sequel or reboot or whatever they're doing with the franchise I'd rather see more of a return to form and have something a bit more in line with the classic entries. I wouldn't mind eventually seeing something like Jason takes Las Vegas or Los Angeles or hell even try New York again and do it better. There's a lot of potential for something like that if done properly I think.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

I do have a twist ending in mind for my idea that would naturally lead into the next sequel.

Someone really should properly tackle Jason Versus Manhattan. That film is disappointing on so many levels but the basic concept needed to be done for fans.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

So here we are nearly 2 years later and aside from a random sale here and there, this fucker hasn't budged much in price. I really can't believe it. The one time I actually saw it drop below $70, I was broke that week and missed out.

Is this set really still flying off the shelves at $100?

No, but I figured the cross-studio licensing that needed to get this set made would likely prevent future clearance sales. I don't ever expect this to get reissued in a cheaper edition or put on clearance. WB almost never cuts bait on licensed sets.

I've still been holding off on this set too. I'm waiting until October to see if it goes on sale. If not I'll pick it up just because I've wanted it for a while.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

I've held off on this for a couple of slightly bizarre reasons. I like the dvd's a lot. The special edition dvd's with the lenticular covers were really good. I guess I don't technically have to get rid of them, but I would feel silly keeping both. Also, not having anything on the spine of the box set pissed me off. I've got 2500 dvds/blu's in my collection and not one has no writing on the spine. I'd almost label it a defect with the set. Number 3, yeah too expensive. I'm sure ill get it at some point though.

They could clear this out at Dollar Tree and I likely still wouldn't buy it until they did a proper 3D disc of part 3.

If you take it out of the tin case, it has a separate case with title "Friday the 13th The Complete Collection" on the spine. It's just like those Disney Treasures DVDs that came in the tin cases with no titles on the spines.

Any fan of the Friday the 13th series should remember those.

1-8 and Freddy vs. Jason/Friday the 13th (2009) are getting double feature releases on September 8th. No mention of Jason Goes to Hell/Jason X though.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

In that case I may just buy the remaining sequels I need so I don't have to double dip. Hopefully we get Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X too though. They aren't my favorite entries but I'd want them for the sake of completion. I suppose I'll have to double dip on Friday the 13th Part 3 though since it'll be paired with The Final Chapter.

I might do the same, unless Warner finally drops the price of the box a little.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Since these are coming out in September, I bet we see them in the Walmart $7.88 dump bins. Might be the cheapest way to get the collection

Sure wish they'd stop re-packaging that bogus red/blue 3D disc and do a real one!

Not quite "complete" without Jason X and Jason goes to Hell, which are in the collection.

For record, I paid $60 or 65 when it was on sale at Best Buy and didn't think that was unreasonable at all with the amount of movies and content. I recall using a GC and selling the UV code, so my out of pocket cost was around $30 IIRC.

Those double-features will almost certainly get carried in Halloween promotions at Walmart and the like.

Anyone score this for $8 bucks during that eBay pricing error?

Are you talking about the one yesterday where they canceled all the orders?

Will the I/II and III/IV double features be on a single disc, or two discs? In the boxed set the first four movies were their individual releases, while V/VI and VII/VIII were on single discs.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

No way WB repressing the discs for this. One and two and three and four will be the single discs and then 5/6 on one disc and 7/8 on another. I bet Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X get released and someone at amazon.com just didn't put them into the system yet.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

I wish that the artwork for the double features was the original theatrical posters rather than the newer artwork. Might have to look into custom covers.
