Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

I would think Amazon would be in contact with Shout on how many sets they would receive to fulfill preorders. Once they hit that limit they would no longer be available.

Amazon will pull a pre-order if they don't think they can fulfill more orders. I find it hard to believe though that this will happen in Friday's case.

Except, depends on who you talk to, there are only 6k-13k copies left across all sites. Now, I would think a site like Amazon would get the majority of them, so you may be right.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

I first placed an order at TCM with a 10% off code but canceled when I realized I'd only be saving a couple dollars as compared to Target with my red card.

I'll admit I never thought I'd purchase this series again, but it's hard to pass up when this really does feel like the definitive edition - or as definitive as we're likely ever to see. I still can't believe we'll finally get a proper presentation of Part 3.

Knowing Amazon, though, if they got shorted on stock from the distributors, it would probably go out based on some algorithm that would maximize profit, based on things like proximity to warehouses, shipping costs/charges, etc.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

As I mentioned before in this thread, I have the previous tin box. I wonder if there is any kind of resale value for it.

Due to the pandemic, the very few B&M stores that bought physical media in my area were shut down for months. I have to wonder if they are even buying used physical media at all. They must have gotten killed being shut down so long. I wonder if there's even any market at all for the previous tin box, especially now with this new set coming in less than 3 months.

I’m not sure why still, but seems to be decent prices for mint to new sets...

It was selling in the $200+ range until the announcement. Now it’s dropped to about $80 on average.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Well, I’ll never give away Halloween set. That’s already definitive, I believe, but Friday I’ll give to a friend and he’ll love. I’ll still keep the case of course ; But he’ll be happy so that’s good enough for me...

Has anyone heard whether or not Scream Factory will be releasing a stand-alone disc of the new Part III? I want a copy of the new full-3D transfer, but I have zero desire for the whole set.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Nothing's been commented on but based on prior experience with the Halloween box set, I doubt Shout will release any individual releases due to the licensing. Who's to say that Paramount will release it on their own in the future like Lionsgate did with Halloween 6.

The only guaranteed way to get part 3 in 3D is to buy the box set before it sells out.

I think I'll visit my local used dvd shop this week and see how much I could get selling my set to them.

DeepDiscount has15% off with code SUNSHINE until 7/22 at noon CT. It brings this set down to $110.49 although it does have a $3.99 shipping fee

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Went to my local used store and inquired about how much I could sell the tin set for and they said $28. I think I paid around $80 for it when it came out. When we get closer to the new set being released I'll try listing it on eBay.

You gotta understand that they're going to pay you only a fraction of what they're going to sell it for used. If you can, you're better off selling it yourself on eBay.

Yes I am aware of that. I'll try ebay once the release date gets closer.

Wouldn’t make sense to try and sell sooner rather than later? I mean I’m sure doesn’t matter now since release pretty widely known by now, but I don’t think it makes sense to wait much longer...

Yeah it would likely go down in value when the new set is out.

I think people used to pay $250-$300 for that tin set, once upon a time.

Re: Friday The 13th BR Box Set in the works.

Well I got my set listed on Ebay. This is the very first time I'm selling anything on ebay and set the starting bid at $45.00. I'll post the link and if anyone wants to look at it, comment, make any suggestions to do better with my listing please let me know.

^ shipping charge a bit on the high side. Would this fit in the Priority flat-rate padded envelope? Only cost like $8 to ship that way..
