I only have IM1 and IH so I think I am in for the big set. It looks fantastic.

As cool as the briefcase is, id rather have a simple box set for Wave 1. And I already own the movies. Oh well custom case time.

I want the case, but as I already mentioned earlier in the thread:
Ugh.
- I own all the Blu-rays except The Incredible Hulk.
- The bonus discs for Iron Man and Iron Man 2 are missing (which totals up to almost 6 hours of bonus material).
- No information has been made of what's on the bonus disc.
- $150+ is too much for something I already own.
Ugh.

Re: The Avengers - Sept. 25, 2012
which Hulk version is in this set?
The unwatchable one with Eric Bana? (one of the few films I actually really wanted to walk out of the theater).
or the barely watchable one with Ed Norton?
I know they wanted to include SOMETHING for the hulk, but I don't think either of those films come anywhere near close to the quality of the other films.
I guess its too much for a reboot origin story of the Hulk that is a) faithful to Kirby's original back story, b) has Rick Jones, C) stars Mark Ruffallo, d) directed by Joss Whedon or Guillermo del Toro.
One can only hope.

I'm betting they do a sequel with Mark Ruffalo now.

If they sell a box set with that artwork and without the briefcase, I'll be interested, since I only have Iron Man. Even better that we won't have to re-buy everything, since it'll be a new set for the next wave (though of course they'll probably release a mega set as well).

-I don't know if it features the same artwork
-It seems to omit the bonus disc
-It seems to omit the 3D versions
(I know, that's a lot of omissions).

I figured this was going to happen. I already own them all and I'm guessing we won't be able to just buy the box separately or anything like that. Should have waited I guess but it sucks that I and others buy these films and others as they come along and probably will miss out on getting the full set because of it unless you want to buy the films over again.

Re: The Avengers - Sept. 25, 2012
I've pre-ordered the briefcase set. I already have Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and Incredible Hulk, but I don't mind the double dip. However, I'd like to put the discs in regular cases so they fit well in my collection---or at least in a box-set the size of of my Blu-ray cases. (The special cases and toys are displayed elsewhere). I've been out of the loop for a while, where's a good place to go for these "custom" cases?

The only thing to make me cancel my pre order is if the feature length docs and features from the IM films aren't there. That's a deal breaker for me. Makes me really wonder if those are in that last BD.
I've only TIH in it's green BD case..so I'm happy that I'd only DD on that one. Never got the others cuz those IM films are way too overpriced by themselves.
And just for the hell of it..here's Tony Stark at ComicCon:

Moviestop is running a deal if you trade in the 5 movies (IM 1,2 Cap, Thor, Hulk) on Blu you get $60 towards the briefcase set, and $70 if you have a directors club card.

Well the big set showed up in my Gold Box yesterday so I pre-ordered it. I'm not too fussed about special features, but I hate to think that a set like this wouldn't be comprehensive. I'm also not a big fan of paying $60 or so for packaging, but that looks way too cool to pass up.

So the discs are in shitty cardboard sleeves? Yeah, that's money well spent.
