i wasn't into it or the movie. thought everything was flat actually, again 3D and the movie. gonna give Piranha 3D a go tonight. see that one? i know this is convert too, but director said he had post in mind and still shot as if using 3D cameras. why would 3DD be real 3D and not this, better received one?

I didn't even know the first one was converted 3D til after watching the extras- it has a making-of thing that's longer than the actual movie. The 2nd one is fun but not quite the same.

I know the movie is for shit, or at least from what I read, but it’s real 3D and wondering if anyone saw Texas Chainsaw (2013) and how does it look?

I liked it and happily added to my collection!

gotta say, good 3D and really not a bad movie. I actually liked it more than I probably should have. I don’t know why, hit the same horror tropes as every garbage remake that comes along, but this was a little different and connected with me, especially end. I even stuck around for the extras. I don’t know how they were going to make 6 films from this like Saw which the producer said and I guess definitely not happening given this is 7 years old now, but I quite enjoyed this all around. It’s short, gets to the point, the kills, some surprises and truthfully not that bad. 3D isn’t going to be reference, but there was some nice depth and chainsaw popout. Really thought the movie would suck, it didn’t. Definitely got my $10 worth and see watching again. That’s really what matters.

A lot of the new titles are releases from Mexico, so they have Spanish Language covers, but the discs have English soundtracks and subtitles, and will play fine in US Blu-ray players.

Hong Kong retailer Buyoyo is listing some "pre-orders" for what's likely additional runs of certain 3D titles, to be released on 2020/11/20. These are all at least Region A, so playable in the US. There's some bargain prices there, at least before shipping. Note that quite a lot are single-disc of the 3D disc ONLY, so will not come with a bonus disc, or sometimes not even the 2D version.

I agree I thought TCM 3D got a bit of a bad rap just on namesake.

Almost made a purchase until I got that $45 shipping quote, yikes.

Shipping to the US? Did you have Courier or Air Mail selected? Air Mail is typically cheaper, although oddly if you go over 15 DUs, Courier becomes cheaper.

The closest to $45 to the US I can see on the shipping details page is Courier for 3-7 DU, there listed as $46.70; maybe the exchange rate shifted. The Air Mail is a more reasonable $17.90 for the same size shipment. However, it's shipping from Hong Kong, so this shipping is never going to be as dirt cheap as from a domestic retailer.

Worth noting that a lot of these titles are – or at least were – available at Hong Kong's DDDHouse. I decided recently to get as many of the 3D Hong Kong and/or (shudder) China discs as I could, and that's when I noticed a lot of these other titles were quite reasonably priced as well, including stuff that wasn't available in North America. Not sure which option would turn out better in terms of shipping, but it might be worth loading up a comparison cart at DDD. My orders were admittedly large (31 discs, then another 17, both mixes of 3D titles and non-3D newer releases) which obviously brings the per-disc shipping cost down dramatically despite the overall charge being a bit high. There's only one 3D title I saved for a third order that has now gone out of stock and which isn't in the Buyoyo links above, so that'll have to be an Amazon Marketplace or eBay grab.

I've ordered from both Buyoyo and DDD House in the past, and both are solid retailers. It looks like DDD House has lower prices on some items, while Buyoyo has lower prices on others. DDD House's shipping is a lot more granular as well, based on the exact number of items you order instead of tiers.

From what I see though, the Buyoyo "pre-order" titles are a lot cheaper than what DDD House has them for, if they have them at all. For example, DDD House lists "Need for Speed" 3D, which was never released in the US, as OOP.

I've noticed that on a few titles, although I've seen "OOP" titles at DDDHouse come back in stock in the past (meaning they use "OOP" to mean "OOS" as well), so perhaps this 'pre-order' thing will make its way there as well? All things considered, in these waning days of 3D, in particular, I figure it's best not to wait, no matter which option you choose.

I just looked up my 31-piece order from them and shipping was, as noted, a high $100 CDN (or $77/US), but broken down on a per-disc basis that's about $3.20/CDN (or $2.50/US) per disc, which I considered justified at the time because importing was – and still is – the only option for a lot of these titles. I'd imagine YesAsia might have a lot of them, too, but the prices are bound to be a lot higher to begin with.

I orded NEED FOR SPEED 3D a couple of years back from Amazon UK, and it's comparable there to the Buyoyo price for those who might only want that title. Again, not sure how shipping compares.

According to other sites, the UK Need for Speed 3D is Region B locked, so only an option if one has a region-free Blu-ray player. So the Hong Kong version is an option for those looking for something Region A compatible.

I just had 3 for the 32 promo picked and air shipment, it was almost $100 for courier.

I can confirm the UK is Region B and locked. I ordered one and couldn't play it. I did get the Australian version which is Region All and that worked.

I just put 3 random Blu-rays in my cart and got HK$75 US$9.60 for Airmail, and HK$297 US$38.1 for courier, to the US.

Maybe you need to list the exact items you were trying to order. Also, make sure the quantity for each item is correct. I've ordered 2 copies of something from them by mistake before, because I wasn't sure if something was added to the cart, and then didn't double-check the quantities in the cat.
