Theaters hardly even showed it in 3D. Just one reason why I’ve given up on theaters.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

HYPERSPACE is an Earl Owensby production, which gives me hope that the 3D Archive is at least aware of, and maybe working on, his other 3D productions from that era: HIT THE ROAD RUNNING (87), CHAIN GANG (84), HOT HEIR (84), TALES FROM THE THIRD DIMENSION (84), and ROTTWEILER / DOGS OF HELL (83). Some of these have been available in worn-out pan-scan prints for ages, even on YouTube, but they’re collectively one of the last ‘groupings’ of 3D films that have been off the radar since 3D Blu-ray began. None of them are classics, but they’re fun B-pictures.

Further to that, here’s an update Bob Furmanek sent out to the DOMO ARIGATO backers regarding other titles in the pipeline:

On October 14, 2014, DRAGONFLY SQUADRON was the inaugural 3-D Blu-ray release from 3-D Film Archive.

In the decade that followed, we produced one critically acclaimed restoration after another. With a variety of distribution partners including Kino Lorber, Flicker Alley, ClassicFlix, and BayView Entertainment, the 3-D Film Archive brought fans major releases including 3-D RARITIES, GOG, THE MAZE, ROBOT MONSTER, THE ABBOTT AND COSTELLO SHOW, JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN, DYNASTY, BWANA DEVIL and IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE.

In the next twelve months, look for the following six 3DFA restorations on Blu-ray:

From BayView Entertainment:

1. Arch Oboler's DOMO ARIGATO.
2. DRAGONFLY SQUADRON, a new restoration with exciting bonus features including a previously lost and historically significant Golden Age 3-D short!

From Kino Lorber Studio Classics:

3. THE GLASS WEB
4. MONEY FROM HOME
5. FRANKENSTEIN'S BLOODY TERROR
6. Arch Oboler's THE BUBBLE, restored 1966 theatrical version.

Pre-orders for THE BUBBLE are now available on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/project...r-arch-obolers-the-bubble-new-3-d-restoration

The very unique and highly specialized expertise of the 3-D Film Archive has cornered the market on vintage stereoscopic film restoration, single-handedly doing more for vintage 3-D preservation than any other organization or archive worldwide.

Thank you VERY much for your interest and ongoing support of our work. The best is yet to come!

And to give you an idea what to expect from HYPERSPACE:

Just got shipping notice on M:I: Fallout 3D. Might be fun. It’s a good movie, but curious to see if the post conversion doesn’t anything remotely to enhance the picture.

I thought it was great in 3D in the theater. Can’t imagine it wouldn’t be solid on 3D Blu-ray.

Welp. Deadpool & Wolverine 3d/4k from Amazon Japan is no longer shipping to USA again. I just heard about it, and confirmed.
I put off ordering because they usually change the shipping price once it gets close, and I wanted to get another 3D from them so decided to wait.
Might have to order from one of the other stores if they don't change it again.

I saw some reports of people receiving their Turbine orders, but I've only gotten shipping notice, still in Germany.

Ever since 3D had gotten on the endangered species list, I’ve preordered every title as soon as they’ve gone up. Haven’t gotten any cancellation notice for Deadpool from YeaAsia so hopefully they’ll come through.

Disgusting that 3D Blu-ray is near dead while regular standard-def DVDs are still being issued and tend to still sell the most.

Why wouldn’t Yesasia come through? I’ve used them many times and never had a problem.

Just heard stuff about sites quickly listing it as “unavailable” or not able to ship to the US.

Amazon Japan has done that. They seem to view exporting as a lower priority service.

Meanwhile, YesAsia's whole thing is offering imports from other countries for sale. I don't think I've heard of them ever denying an import.

the 3D is pretty good. Colors little washed out though. Forgot how much fun this movie was. The fight scenes which are minimal at best in all other M:I movies were great. Brutal. I forgot most of this and like the new life it’s proven to be.

Got my Turbine MI: Fallout yesterday. The IMAX shots and Dolby Atmos soundtrack were great. The 3D had lots of depth but (sadly) no pop out. I also thought the colors were a bit washed out, but maybe that's because my eyes have gotten used to watching films in 4K and HDR.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

Turbine has put up their next three 3D Blu-ray titles, due out December 19. Bumblebee, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and Sing 2 .

Turbine Collector Serie #7 #8 #9

The Turbine Collector Series continues on December 19.

#07
The favorite from the Transformers series: BUMBLEBEE celebrates its Blu-ray 3D world premiere at Turbine. Experience the story of how an old VW Beetle becomes the savior of the Autobots and a mechanical friend for life for Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld). As always with the Turbine Collector Series, there is full 3D sound in Dolby Atmos in German and English.

#08
The successful franchise is giving home cinema another Blu-ray 3D world premiere. In TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS, the Autobots fight together with the mighty Maximals to put the Decepticons in their place. The spectacle also contains Dolby Atmos sound in German and English, which will push your system to its limits.

#09
Koala Buster Moon returns to the stage with his All-Stars, delivering entertainment for the whole family. In SING 2 the big dream of Redshore City leads directly into your living room (or home theatre). Dolby Atmos in German and English Dolby Atmos in German and English ensures that the sound is also… a big show.

The discs are region code free and can be played worldwide.
All editions have a reversible sleeve with the original title on the front and spine.

Preorders start NOW exclusively at Turbine-Shop.de. A bundle with all three films is available at a discounted price.

Further 3D titles are planned.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

Nice. I figured after they listed MISSION IMPOSSIBLE that the TRANSFORMERS movies wouldn’t be far behind, although I was thinking of the recent animated film and not these two. I would only have purchased either if they’d come out on 3D discs. And since they’re obviously continuing with more, I’m tempted to hold off on everything until they’ve got enough titles where a sale might be possible. The combo pricing is nice, but both combos with titles I need also each contain one title I bought previously from Random Space.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

They'll have one more batch of 3 for the titles they've already hinted at releasing. Those films will be Friday the 13th part 3, Scream 6 and TMNT Mutant Mayhem .

No idea on when a sale would be likely. The titles are apparently selling well enough as it is. They're currently sold out of Jurassic World, and getting more copies in a few weeks.

I suspect it would be quite a while before a sale, but I wouldn’t rule it out unless these turned out to have quantity limitations, which doesn’t seem to be the case so far. And I’m sure the various studios are fine with whatever revenue they get out of it for as long as they can. That said, I’ve had one of the earlier bundles in my cart since it was announced and now I’ve added this one, so who knows if I’ll change my mind and buy them, and just flip the duplicate Random Space discs on Amazon. Of course, even that next group of three has one title I already have (Friday the 13th, in the Shout box). I do suspect that they’re bundling these that way on purpose, so that if you want the discount you have to take another copy of at least one title many 3D buffs already have.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

I saw on Facebook, they were asking if Sing 2 3D had been corrected from the Random Space release (on screen text missing on right eye). And someone that identified themselves as one of the Turbine owners said they had indeed corrected it on their release.

I ordered the other 2 from them and got a shipping notice already. I guess I should've gotten Sing 2 also.

Also, I received Domo Arigato from the Kickstarter. Probably won't get to watch until next month.

OK, so the prices for those two Hong Kong 3D Blu-rays actually looks decent on YesAsia, for some you can get a better deal from buying from Buyoyo in Hong Kong.

Here's their in-stock 3D Blu-rays:
https://www.buyoyo.com/buyoyo/eng/Ad...D=off&orderBy=

In addition to the [In Stock] items in the above link, they also have items with the status [Released]. For [Released] items, they don't have them in stock, but could get them from their supplier. It's only if they know their supplier is also out that they then mark it [Out of Stock].

Here's some items with [Released] status that in the product details state "To Order (available within 12 to 25 days)":

(290566-B-3D) The Child's Eye (Blu-ray 3D Version) HK$55 (US$7.1)

https://www.buyoyo.com/buyoyo/eng/Pr...99904&prtype=0

Edit: for the [Released] items, I tended to exclude anything that had a US 3D Blu-ray release, unless it was a good deal.

And again, the items marked [Released] aren't guaranteed to ship, they just haven't been told by their supplier that they can't get any more yet. The [In Stock] status items should definitely ship though. Also, the [Released] items will hold up your order the 12 to 25 days it takes for them to get the title from the supplier, if they can.

Thanks for the info, never heard of this store. But I have all of those except the two 3 AM's; Step Up and Street Dance 2.
That's why I picked up the 2 from yesasia. It's getting hard to find titles I don't have at a "decent" price.

Edit, but I do have Streetdance 2

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

Just a note that Step Up All In is aka Step Up 5. The US got 3D Blu-rays of Step Up 3 and 4, but not 5. There is also a UK release of Step Up 5.

I've been using Buyoyo for decades, back when it was called DVDShelf, and importing Hong Kong DVDs.

DDDHouse is another long-established Hong Kong DVD exporter. They've historically had good prices, but it they seem to know they have some OOP 3D-Blu-rays, and have priced them accordingly. Still,
