Strange that they would lie about it at the sneak peek Lucasfilm hosted.

Besides the hidden Boba Fett Cartoon, the two Ewok movies, the complete Droids cartoon series, and the complete Ewok cartoon series?

Don't forget the unaltered original versions. They hid those well

I think it includes all/most of the extant OT deleted scenes. As for the PT, this set does include any of the deleted scenes that appeared on the DVDs, but it includes PT deleted scenes that were known to have existed but not on the DVDs; mostly from AOTC.

They're hidden so well, you have to go to Skywalker Ranch to find them!

Thanks. Still on the fence about this set.

Are any of the PT deleted scenes on this blu ray set actually complete? everything I watched was in animatic form - and sometimes very rough animatic form. I couldn't get through them.

Got a bunch of gift cards for xmas, so I'm saying what the hell maybe I will get the set. Maybe.

Just one question - did they subtitle the extras and deleted scenes?

Yes.

So I got a $75 Walmart gift card for Christmas (well didn't actually recieve it, purchased it for somebody and then lost it and had to buy another one and then proceeded to find the first one) and I'm thinking about getting the set. I just don't know if I can bring myself to get it even though I always log a few minutes whenever they're on FX.

In that case, it's not a gift, its your money. If you're unsure, buy something you need instead, like groceries, since it's essentially money right out of your bank account.

Haven't read through this entire thread, but wanted to know why DVD Talk never provided a review of this set. I know there is a ton of info available about it, but I usually use the DVD Talk review as my gauge for a purchase.

Is that a negative? Seems like a very valid question to me.

re: Star Wars

I thought this thread was bumped because of news that Darth Vader sword-fighting double / trainer Bob Anderson just passed away.

Nevertheless who cares if someone registers but prefers to read rather than post?

Is that against some rule here?

It's a valid question, and it could easily have been answered nicely rather than with some pointless sarcasm.

Speaking from personal experience, there have been many places I've registered JUST to read but never post, because I didn't like the tone of the place but wanted the information.

oh i thought it was bumped cause John Clark, the gaffer on Empire Strikes Back recently lost his dog

I've registered for forums and never posted, simply because I needed to register in order to see the posts.

I lurked here for about a year before making my first post.

Anyway, the best we got for a Blu-ray review from DVDTalk.com was this short review posted by droidguy1119 in this thread:

P.S. I wasn't making up that mention of Bob Anderson, the Darth Vader fight double.

Since dvdtalk didnt review these Star Warriors films, it's probably wise not to purchase them then.

Wow, I had to check for myself to verify but DVDTalk did not do a review of any of these three Bluray Star Wars releases. I mean, I realize all the discussion would cover most of the points, but it's still nice to have something on the record that you can easily point to for future discussions.

re: Star Wars

I would assume they never got a review copy and/or:

a) are too cheap to buy a copy to review.
b) waited too long for Black Friday deal.
c) silent protest regarding the lack of the OOT on blu.
d) idiot mods banned the only reviewer with a copy.
e) didn't want a 50-page thread in Review Talk.

Ah yes, Review Talk. The only DVDTalk forum that gets less traffic than book talk.

Book Talk is always a joke, but seriously... there's a Review Talk? rotfl
