Pretty *meh* list.

I should be more excited about Mad Max, but I find the movie sort of dull. Road Warrior blows it away. Unless there's something really cool on the CE, my blu-ray/DVD combo pack I got for $6 is good enough for me.

I'll probably pick up EFNY, but most of the others just seem like they should be double feature fodder.

Monkey Shines would make a good double feature with Link (I've always conflated those two movies in my mind; when this was announced I thought Monkey Shines was the one with Elizabeth Shue).

Dark Half I remember watching once long ago and making very little impression on me.

Candyman 2 is kind of useless without the original on blu-ray.

I think Scream has already raided most of the top shelf material from the MGM and Universal vaults and they're kind of scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point.

Agree about this list. Disagree about what's left in the vaults.
Universal- hoping for Sssssss, The Car, The Sentinel, I Saw What You Did, Journey Far Side of Sun. Colossus: The Forbin Project. I wouldn't expect any classic stuff from 30s-50s. Are the R2 Hammers from Universal themselves or third party? Also from 60s Night Walker, Island Of Terror and Projected Man.
MGM- most 80s and up stuff has been mined. Would like to see I, Madman. Who controls original Phantasm? There are enough Vincent Price films for volumes 3 and 4. Maybe a beach party collection in future. If your into them, a biker movie collection. Many, many more 50s-70s AIP horror/sci-fi. I'd kill for BD of The Crimson Cult.
Then there is all the AB stuff that hasn't got BD release yet. Don't know who controls them. Macon County Line, Murder By Decree, Sword and Sorcerer, Philadelphia Experiment.
Shout has released some of the former UA titles now controlled by ITV. Eagle Has Landed, Cassandra Crossing, Raise The Titanic. Capricorn One and Boys From Brazil are available all region. That still leaves Return of the Pink Panther, which has me wondering why such a high profile MGM/UA franchise has not received any BD release yet. This is a good chance to get them all back together under the same roof.
Hope Springs Eternal.

Anchor Bay controls Phantasm 1, 3, & 4. Since Anchor Bay and Shout did business on the Halloween box set, maybe there will be a Phantasm Box set in the future.

Invaders from Mars and Scarecrows are day one purchases for me.

That would be awesome! With Phantasm: Ravager out next year, let's hope we at least get some good re-releases of 2,3 and 4.

BTW, Colors was also Orion/MGM. Any chance for a SHOUT! blu-release of that?

I didn't know about Silva's premature death; just read about it. What a shame. He had such a wonderfully infectious energy about him.

Interesting news. For whatever reason Facebook wouldn't let me select the text to c/p it, so here is this image.

Some odd changes there other than the vintage making of thrown out. Wonder why?

Spoiler:
blu-ray.com just exploded.

I haven't seen the vintage Making of. Is it worth paying extra for and ordering right away? Right now, Lifeforce is on my B Wish List. I liked it but there is so much coming out lately that I can't keep up financially.

For those worried about the vintage Lifeforce extra you can still get the Arrow region B release.

I have it and watched it last year. I don't remember too much about it but I kinda remember it being interesting and a little better than the normal EPKs you see. I will try to throw it in this evening and post to advise if it really seems worth it or not if you want.

She seems pretty cool in all of the interviews I've seen her in. Do you know her personally?

She also vitriolically hates gay people and minorities. I don't really care that she doesn't like Obama; lot's of people don't like Obama.

I was wondering why so many members had bought the BD recently. Guess that upcoming release explains it.

People are scooping Lifeforce up on eBay at normal price. If you don't want to pay ridiculous prices or import the Arrow set, I'd suggesting buying it soon before the scalpers get to it.

It's now back-ordered on Amazon.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I almost just bought it on Amazon, my discs are mainly in storage and I was sure I hadn't bought the BD yet, but luckily I found my shout factory emails. Hopefully I find the disc before October.....
