True, I think it's a pretty cool cover despite being 'busy' and definitely making the film look more 'action packed' than it really is for unsuspecting viewers. This appears to be one release where if I buy it, I won't bother flipping over the cover since Cliff confirmed they're using the theatrical artwork for the reverse cover. And the theatrical poster is really boring and doesn't sell me on the film at all. I much prefer the Media VHS release cover(also used on the A.B. divimax release) which I think is awesome.

I like the one sheet even though it's minimal. Here's a breakdown of the Media version:

Didn't see it mentioned here, but Scream Factory announced the first batch of Vincent Prince titles on Facebook a couple weeks ago:
If you love VINCENT PRICE like we do then you're gonna love love LOVE this exciting news! We will be releasing a blu-ray collection box set before Halloween that showcases some of the legendary horror film star's greatest films which include:

- FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER
- THE HAUNTED PALACE
- THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH
- THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM
- WITCHFINDER GENERAL- and its alternate U.S. version of the film, THE CONQUEROR WORM
- THE ABOMINABLE DR. PHIBES

More details (artwork, exact street date, pricing, extras, etc.) to be revealed in June-July so stay tuned you "Screamers"--as one of fans affectionately put it.
I was just about to shell out for the Vincent Price DVD set from MGM (mainly for Witchfinder General), but I'm so glad I read this announcement first. Hopefully Theater of Blood will be in the next batch.

Without starting any rumors, it was either on FB or Blu-ray.com that someone asked Scream Factory is the first Vincent Price set sells well if there are plans for a second and the response was something like "lets hope it sells well "

Awesome! I've been waiting for a good, uncut version of Body Bags to surface for years.

re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

I got my Crimewave Blu yesterday and managed to watch everything on it. I could swear there's some additional footage there. Before I had the Korean Panorama DVD, it has an awful transfer but was longer than my VHS copy. It also had "The XYZ Murders" on the title card and a crude player-generated "AKA Crimewave" noted at the bottom. I wasn't so sure Shout would have the longer version on theirs but it has the extra scene from the Panorama disc and I think it had even more footage in that scene.

The extras were pretty surprising. I think Bruce Campbell's book made it a moot point to dance around all the crazy drama on the film. I don't know if it's really "the mother of all commentaries" but he's pretty frank about the bad behavior of certain actors on the set. Another surprising moment is when Reed Birney talks about the actor who was originally cast in the part and he doesn't use the actor's name but an article in the stills gallery lets the cat out of the bag on the actor's identity.

Review of Rolling Thunder (1977)

http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/59478/rolling-thunder/

I'm actually glad to hear that the transfers between the UK & US discs are similar. I bought the UK disc a while ago and was hoping not have to double dip so soon.

Looks like the US disc has different extras though.

***BREAKING NEWS!***

Since we started this week with a John Carpenter film announcement (Body Bags) it is fitting with end it with another...The master's 1987 cult classic PRINCE OF DARKNESS - our #1 most requested title - will be coming this fall and presented as a Collector's Edition on DVD and Blu-ray!

We have no more details to report at this time (i.e. street date, extras, etc.) but will reveal more in the next few months. Have a great weekend!

Why's everyone so keen on PRINCE OF DARKNESS? I've seen it, it was just OK... I love Carpenter, moody psychological horror, '70s and '80s catalog films. Can't figure out why that film missed the mark for me.

Me neither.

I love it - great, moody score from Howarth, typical Carpenter claustrophobic environment, solid stock of actors, Jameson Parker's sweet 'stache, and I absolutely LOVE the ending. I think Carpenter's fascination with quantum physics and his interpretation of how evil is manifested confused and turned off a lot of the horror community.

Prince of Darkness is my favorite horror film, and I consider it Carpenter's true masterpiece. I'm not too keen on this company's treatment of certain titles, but if they handle this one correctly, maybe they'll win back some of my respect.

Give it a second shot. The first time I saw it, I wasn't crazy about it myself. Then a friend of mine had a spare copy and gave it to me so I watched it again. Now I think it's one of Carpenter's best.

Anyone else have terrible service from ordering from their website? My order never showed up in my account but after contacting customer service, they said it went through and two of my items would be shipping soon and they'd have tracking info. That was 10 days ago. This is bizarre and for the cost of shipping I paid $11+ for 5 blu-rays, I should have gotten something by now.
