Re: The One and Only Shout! Studios (and Scream Factory!) Blu-ray Thread

FYI:

Greetings from Shout! Factory,

We're writing to let you know that your pre-order for The Ti Lung / David Chiang Collection will be postponed due to an unexpectedly longer QC process than we had originally planned. This extra time will allow us to present the best-possible version of these films, repairing any discovered errors and sourcing original Hong Kong masters.

The original street date was 9/26/23; the new street date is now 11/28/23.

Please note: the exclusive poster for this title is sold out; if you were one of the early buyers who secured a poster and you wish to retain it, we recommend leaving your order open.

We apologize for the unforeseen delays.

Thank you again for your pre-order, and thank you so much for your support of the site—we really couldn't do what we do without you.

All the best,
Shout! Studios

Shout is selling Crimson Rivers 2 on BD - limited to 1600 units. $29.98 plus shipping and tax. It's $40 and some change total for me, so I will have to pass. It's free shipping on order over $50, though.

I like the movie and own the DVD (Sony). I don't believe there's an English friendly version out there, so it sucks that it's this expensive.

Meanwhile, I upgraded the far superior first film to Kino’s Blu-ray (with all the supplements) for $9.99 in a sale earlier this year. Shout is ridiculous with these exclusives. I suppose they sell — and even sell out sometimes — but I’m always leery that they’ll eventually get licensed out to Kino, where they’ll stay available for a much longer period of time for a lot less money. I kinda feel like there’s already been some titles that went that way, but I could be misremembering.
