There’s really quite a lot going out of print soon. Might have to throw together an order of some of those titles at some point.

Dark Castle Entertainment’s Ghost Ship, mostly remembered for its gruesome opening sequence, is headed to Collector’s Edition Blu-ray via Scream Factory, we’ve just learned.

The 2002 horror movie comes to SF Blu-ray on August 18th, 2020.

This is being presented as a Collector’s Edition release and will come guaranteed with a slipcover in its first three months of release. The newly commissioned artwork you see pictured below comes to us from artist Joel Robinson. This new art will be front-facing and as always, the reverse side of the wrap will feature the original theatrical artwork.

New extras are in progress and will be announced on a later date.

Sort of a fun movie. Might pick it up at some point.

Since they are releasing the Dark Castle movies I'm hoping for the House of Wax remake.

A Midnight Clear also announced. I can’t wait for this one! No mention of transfer. It was never released in HD before, to my knowledge. Does that mean just a little spit shine on existing DVD?

Don't look now, but the Species III/Species 4: The Awakening double feature is getting mighty scarce. If you are a fan of the franchise, I wouldn't wait any longer securing a copy.

Good. Once it goes OOP, I can sell my copy for more money than it is worth hopefully!

Just got my copy in the mail today. The deleted scenes are interesting, as they really changed the first act of the film. I can see why they cut it, but it would have made the plot more believable. Still, it's great to see this footage after 30+ years.

Got my copy of Born In East L.A. as well. That included the TV edit with the full 3rd act still in tact. Of course it's censored and in Full Frame (though crop and stretch did give me pretty much the 1:85 ratio, and it really looked decent considering. Been close to 30 years since I got to see the full movie.

i haven't gotten to the extras yet, but the movie looks so much better than i ever saw, even on pay cable when they had in HD. such a cheesy classic and they fixed the game (SMB3) somehow to not play like it's supposed to i believe...

I still need to pick this up. Been waiting for a good deal but it always hovers at $25. I'm glad they added the extended cut because I grew up with that version. I never understood why that last section of the movie was removed to begin with. The movie is more fleshed out and satisfying with the added scenes. I just wish Universal/Shout had done a remastered extended cut.

Event Horizon is coming out in a new collector's edition this fall. Shout Factory is going to trying and find the lost footage to assemble a director's cut but last I heard that film has been lost.

I'd rather see Event Horizon on UHD than a collector's edition. Doubt Shout Factory can find the lost footage.

I really like the artwork and hope that Paul WS Anderson participates, as well. Day 1.

Excited for Event Horizon. Put my pre order in with Amazon... usually there is at least one price drop before release.

Lately there's a point where a Collector's Edition hits 24.95 at Amazon and then it goes back up to $27-28.95 shortly before it's released.

I haven’t actually seen Event Horizon, but I think I’d like it. Might pre-order it.
