Re: The Official Masters of Cinema Blu-ray Thread
After watching City Girl, I decided to go ahead and grab Sunrise and Mad Detective as well. Can't wait for Fantastic Planet.

Noir - can you make a master list (in post #1) of the MoC blurays and denote which region they are, that would be really helpful.

I'll give this a try:
1. Sunrise - Region Free - Beaver Review
2. Mad Detective - Region Free - Beaver Review
3. Tokyo Sonata - Region Free - Beaver Review
4. Une femme mariée - Region Free - Beaver Review
5. For All Mankind - Region B?
6. ??
7. Soul Power - Region Free - Beaver Review
8. City Girl - Region Free - Beaver Review
9. M - Region B - Beaver Review
Apologize for the spine numbers, my brain works better that way.

#6 is "Fantastic Planet", but it's unreleased and doesn't even have a firm release date yet. #10 is going to be "Profound Desires of the Gods".

A brief update on upcoming titles, from the Criterion Forum:
No MoC releases in April or May -- but a number of Eureka DVD/BDs, which have MoC involvement, will be released April/May/June/July.
We're working hard on METROPOLIS, THE WORLD BD, THE BURMESE HARP BD, PROFOUND DESIRES BD, LE GRAND JEU DVD, LA PLANETE SAUVAGE BD, three confirmed mystery BD titles, and a host of other titles for Xmas and into 2011.

Re: The Official Masters of Cinema Blu-ray Thread
This may be a little off topic, but I did not know where to post and you guys seem very knowledgeable about MoC and Criterion here. Why are Criterion films so much more expensive than MoC's even though both deliver similar quality DVD/BD? For instance, I just bought MoC's Sansho from Mizoguchi for U$ 15 shipped to Brazil, and Criterion is U$ 24 without shipping. Result, this month alone I bought 12 films from Eureka and none from Criterion... Hurray Eureka!
If this has been answered elsewhere, I apologize and ask to direct me there.
Thanks

Re: The Official Masters of Cinema Blu-ray Thread
My Moc BD of M has an audio problem on my home theater. The DTS-HD 2.0 mono signal comes out of the Left and Right speakers, and I can't get the channels to re-direct it to my center speaker.
I always do this for 2.0 mono signals, but for some reason it won't do it for "M" for some reason.
This is for the German main feature, the English version, and the commentaries.

From MoC's Twitter page:
We saw our 1080p Blu-ray encode of the new METROPOLIS today for the first time. Can someone scrape us off the ceiling?

In other news, their April sale has all 8 of their BD on sale for 80 pounds sterling as a package. An amazing deal.

Wow, they've been handing out some serious discounts lately. Too bad I already own everything.

Re: The Official Masters of Cinema Blu-ray Thread
The only region-locked titles they've released so far were either already available in the US (For All Mankind) or had a planned US release (M). Gives me hope that this will be region free.
