I keep expecting to see it announced in RA from Criterion, or more likely Twilight Time, but ...nothing.

Remastered in 4K and it's the 193 minute director's cut. Due out March 19, 2018 in the UK.

Eureka(MOC) has a few nice limited editions coming out in the next few months. Not sure if I should make a new thread for blu-rays or just use this one now and next time? I pre-ordered all 4 from Amazon.uk.
Looks like they all ship together and will arrive early May.Might be better to order direct from Eureka if they
ship them as they are released ?

Saw that MR. VAMPIRE news recently, but will probably wait until I can save a bit on it (along with ZU). Eureka just keeps batting them out of the park, and I doubt we'll see such definitive editions on these shores any time soon, if ever. I guess the British have an advantage what with Hong Kong being a colony back in the day. Frank Djeng really needs to do a lot more commentaries on Hong Kong films, too. He does the leg-work.
I'm curious about the commentaries on that Lugosi set. I think I've got those films in some old Universal pack or other, but I don't recall extra features. I suspect the Ellinger/Deighan tracks are new, but Gregory Mank's been doing them for so long I wonder if his are ported from an older release?

I received the same two movies about a week latter. Criss Cross and A Foreign Affair came today
Have not yet checked if Amazon.uk is cheaper. Even if close I rather give my $ directly to MOC + they still have free shipping.
Nothing in this deal is a must own for me.Eureka might have a another big sale around Oct/Nov and maybe some of these movies will go even lower.

Already have the LE Kwaiden that just was release not to long ago,it sold out really fast.Going to buy the other two, but Eureka had some good sales last Oct/Nov.So going hold off awhile on the purchase, as I do not think either are going to sell out before MOC next sale.

Definitely in for MADE IN HONG KONG. That's absolutely essential Hong Kong cinema for anyone who really wants to understand the city (even now), its culture and its films on a deeper level than just the action films that almost exclusively get released in North America. This one forms part of Chan's '1997 Trilogy' that also includes the likewise excellent THE LONGEST SUMMER (in which the political statements are even stronger) and LITTLE CHEUNG. Frankly, a 3-film SE set would've been a far better product in terms of contextualizing all three films, even though they're not direct sequels.
Apparently, MADE IN HONG KONG was also getting prepped for a U.S. theatrical run before the world went to shit, but I was hopeful that that might be a sign that a U.S. distributor – most appropriately Criterion – would release it on disc. Guess we'll see.

Metrograph Pictures is rolling out a brand new 4K restoration of the film, one of Hong Kong’s most beloved indies, bringing it to the big screen as it was first imagined by Chan.
In 2017, on the 20th anniversary of its release, “Made in Hong Kong” was restored by Italy’s Udine Far East Film Festival and, per an official release, was made “starting from the original camera negatives and working under the direct supervision of Fruit Chan and cinematographer O Sing-pui. The restoration is as authentic and true to the original film as possible.”
Per an official press release, the film is the “first independent film released in post-Handover Hong Kong, [and] director Fruit Chan’s atmospheric shoestring-budget character study is a rough-and-ready piece of work shot on grainy leftover 35mm short ends in the city’s overcrowded subsidized housing projects. The result is a tough, pessimistic film, a portrait of a city on the brink that follows the drifting of high school dropout and wannabe Triad tough Autumn Moon (Sam Lee, in a star-making role, opposite a largely non-professional cast), who sees little hope for his future or that of his home as a newly created Special Administrative Region within China.”
