I kind of agree with the one-sided nature of the overall thread discussion being the packaging, one would think that there could be a dedicated 'Criterion's Packaging - ain't it a bitch' thread.

so maybe a moderator needs to do some editing and move a chunk of 'packaging' posts to one of the five threads - ya think?

*sigh*
Just recieved my first Criterion blu ray in the mail from Amazon, Bottle Rocket. However, the center hub was completely shattered and thus no way to hold the disc at all. Is this common with Criterion blus?
I would put it in a normal blu ray case since I have an abundance of blank cases, but the artwork is too big to fit.
Oh well, off to Amazon for a return.

I jumped the gun and already request a return from Amazon, so now I have to go through with it or I get charged another $24

Though I would point out that Amazon has most of the older Criterion blu-rays back down into $23.99 and $24.99 range. Not quite B&N sale pricing but it seems like a long time since Amazon had to be price competitive on Criterion titles.

I get them for almost half that price from B&N, so I'm not sure how the pricing is competitive.
