Already have the Arrow Video version of Videodrome and that has the David M./FiM encode, which will be better than CC's. I am in for Freaks and The Others, though.

I’ve heard good things about The Others.

I’ve had Freaks on DVD for years and never watched it.

Wow, The Others has been out of print on physical media for years and is not available to stream. I remember seeing it many years ago. It was owned by Miramax I believe.

I already have Videodrome on Criterion. Don't need a 4K upgrade.

I have the Videodrome Arrow 4k and it is drop dead gorgeous!

If you ever change your mind, I would get the Arrow disc since it has different extras than the Criterion.

I have the Crtierion blu and don't regret having both.

Looks like a nice Jackie Chan set, I'll probably grab that at the next sale.

I wonder if Texasville is also in 4K or just in 1080p on the 4K disc?

Last Picture Show and Days of Heaven - in the same month and in 4K. That alone makes it a helluva month.

It's a bonus feature so it's on the Blu-ray:
  • One 4K UHD disc of the film presented in Dolby Vision HDR and two Blu-rays with the film and special features

Re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread

I’ve never seen Last Picture Show, but is it a big deal the there’s only one cut on the Criterion?
I guess that Sony box had both cuts. I’ll probably pick up the CC. I was just curious.

The disc in the BBS Criterion set only had the director's cut as well.

Cybil Shepherd and Annie-Annie in glorious 4k? Yes please.

Seriously though, this is such a good film.

Re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread

This release of Last Picture Show reminded me in a weird way that I never picked up Columbia Classics Vol 3. After comparing that release to this one, I'd prefer the Sony release. I jumped on Amazon and they had a few Vol 3 left at $84. Since I'm good with the other movies I snagged it. Arriving Sunday.
