Wow. After Hours and One False Move are two of the biggest "Criterion will get around to these someday" titles.
And a Ranown box set? I was just watching through my Indicator set again and lamenting just how bad the old masters in that set look. I'm a little disappointed Criterion couldn't secure Seven Men From Now, but I assume Warner Archive will get to it eventually.

Yeah, after moving to other boutique labels for the sci-fi/horror stuff, to find myself interested in a box of westerns, of all things, is pretty surprising to myself. The westerns in the collection already that I've watched have been pretty good stuff so I may continue on with collecting them.

I'm happy After Hours is finally coming out and I love that cover!
However, after the long wait of this release I was hoping Crtierion would have produced new bonus material. New interviews and a recently made documentary would have been icing on the cake.

The bonus content on One False Move is really light. Basically just a new interview with Franklin and Thornton.
The commentary is 23 years old from the old DVD release.
I am looking forward to Thelma and Louise on 4K once that gets on sale.

Dreams is the only Kurosawa film that Criterion released on BD that I hadn't picked up, so now I don't feel so badly for dragging my feet.

So no 4k disc for La Bamba?
Talk about mixed emotions here.

Pretty excited for La Bamba. Only disappointment with it is a lack of participation from the actual musicians involved, specfically Los Lobos (Ritchie Valens), Marshall Crenshaw (Buddy Holly), and Brian Setzer (Eddie Cochran).

Yeah, I'm sure this has been covered in this thread, but Criterion's continued lack of effort in the special features department is frustrating. I actually fear it's connected to the health of the company. But damn, I miss new commentaries and just the sense of digging for cool behind-the-scenes details.

Has anyone seen The Trial I’m intrigued by that cover art and the movie’s description. Thoughts?

The novel is great, despite being unfinished. The movie is fine, but if I’m picking from Welles films, it would be in my bottom half.

Grabbed the Pasolini set from B&N today (50% off, natch)!
The packaging alone is a thing of beauty, and while I've only seen about half the films in the set, if the rest are half as good, I'm beyond happy with this set!

How is After Hours? I’m hearing a lot of anticipation - and there's a thread here from 2004 where it was a holy grail for a DVD release...that dude must be pumped if he's still here.
