Didn't get dinged with duty, but they did take longer than expected to arrive. When they have their sales, what kind of prices are we looking at for Criterion BD titles? |

Anywhere from $13-$20 for the $40 titles. It depends on whether or not you have a membership and if you do, if the cashier allows you to use a $5 coupon on each title. $40 - $20 (sale) - $2 (membership discount) - $5 (coupon) = $13. Use the same formula for the higher priced titles to get the final discounted price.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I got them for $18.99 shipped to Australia if that's any help for Canada buyers, I expect it would be slightly cheaper to Canada for shipping.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I pre-ordered The Thin Red Line through Amazon. Could not wait until the next B&N sale.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Awesome, I'll get those both on day one.
I really like the art for Cronos too. It looks like it's by Mike Mignola. (Probably is, I know him and Guillermo Del Toro good friends) |
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
It is Mignola. I want everything being released the rest of the year.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I'm so all over those two, you don't even know.
Well, maybe riot knows. |

The selections are just fine with me though, as from now through November Is going to be fairly brutal in general. The breather will give me a chance to actually sit down and watch the bounty ahead. |
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Only two releases? Cronos didn't really grab me, but I'll rent the Blu-ray. I'm on the fence on a Videodrome triple-dip, but it's nice to see some new extras included.

What stuff was on the Sony Digibook of "Easy Rider" that is being left off the Criterion release?

Last year was just A Christmas Tale (which was delayed from November) and Gimme Shelter. There were years when they didn't release anything in December. |
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I think I may just end up breaking that BBS set up and selling off a few of the titles.
Don't really care about Head and Easy Rider. Of the others, I'll watch FEP, DHS, ASP and KOMG, but if they don't click for me, I'm sure someone out there will be happy not to have to buy the set to get them. Last Picture Show is the only must have for me, and worth it enough to take a chance on the entire set. |

The only items on the existing Sony BD are the Hopper solo commentary and Shaking the Cage documentary. It looks like they've both been ported over. |
re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Leaning towards a yes on Cronos, but what I've read about Videodrome, I don't think its really my cup of tea.

December's always light for Criterion releases - they rarely put out more than one or two titles during that month.
