I think I read reports on blu-ray.com of some people getting recycled first printing cases with second printing discs inside. The reality is that if there are first printing discs out in the wild, they are probably very rare. You should be able to order from just about anywhere and feel safe doing so.

December releases are up.
Downhill Racer
Jellyfish Eyes
Speedy
Burroughs: The Movie
Also Jonathan Turell has confirmed that Criterion is working on Here Comes Mr. Jordan and The In-Laws. They also want to do The Princess Bride if they can add something of value to it and they might be doing Shampoo.

Just Speedy for me.
I don't know if my tastes are getting pickier or what, but for the past several months, Criterion has released very little that has actually sparked my interest.

edit: Never mind. I'm wrong. The problem wasn't discovered until after release. Purchase at your own risk.
double edit: I take that back. I was right the first time. This was pulled by the distributor two weeks before its original street date. No bad copies should be out in the wild.

Jellyfish Eyes certainly looks interesting but I may have to force myself to start using Hulu for Criterion titles I'm not absolutely certain about anymore.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
Did you not read where I said above that Criterion seems to be reusing the first pressing cases and that the discs inside may still be "second printing?" It's of course very possible that you did get an actual first pressing, but you'll never know unless you open it.

...ok, and Criterion feels they need to release this, why? Not bashing the movie or Criterion, but the movie feels like a really odd choice for Criterion's wheelhouse. Of course this isn't the first thing Criterion released that I thought was out of place.
