I don't know anything about Nolan's Following. Worth getting? I'm a fan of his other films.

re: The Criterion Collection 4K/Blu-ray Discussion and Release Thread
I'm glad to see that Following was announced, as it was the only title (other than Y Tu Mama Tambien) that was mentioned in the initial news about their deal with IFC that hadn't been released.
Now if only we could get Y Tu Mama Tambien to come out soon!
It certainly isn't as polished as his films are now (even compared to Memento, which was also independent), but I think it's certainly worth checking out, at the very least. It's closer to Memento than the rest of his work, though part of that is due to the non-linear storytelling.
I do find it interesting that Criterion took a page out of the Memento SE's handbook and is offering a chronological version of the movie on there, too...

Feb 1985 European Version: This was released in UK and Europe. Never released in the US. I once saw a PAL videotape of it.
Dec 1985 US Version: After the much publicized battle Gilliam did not knuckle under to Universal's desire to radically cut the film but he did cut about 8-10 minutes out of the film for US theaters. This was the only version available on VHS in America and the most complete version of the film available until the Criterion Version.
1988 Syndicated Television Version (aka The Love Conquers All Version): The radically altered 90 minute Universal butcher job
1996 Criterion Version: Basicly the European Version but with some things from the US version that Gilliam actually prefered and some slight alterations.

Truth is, though, I now like getting money from family members (which is pretty much all I get for Christmas nowadays), and buying the movies myself.

Brazil is amazing news. Second favorite film of all time behind Blade Runner The Final Cut. Now I just need Criterion to do Eraserhead and blu-ray life will be complete.

Pretty great for December. Purple Noon is a pleasant surprise, especially since I never picked up the DVD - it's a great movie, and not just because Delon is gorgeous in it.
The first Qatsi film is pretty great, but I'll have to watch the second and third films before deciding if I want to buy the set.

I haven't seen Naqoyqatsi, but the first two are fantastic and I especially love the soundtrack to Powaqqatsi. Brazil is like the flagship Criterion film.

Big fan of Purple Noon as I saw it earlier this year. More Delon on bluray is never a bad thing. It's much better than the 1999 version with Damon and Jude Law.
Will pick up Following since it's the Nolan film I enjoy the most and Brazil as well.
