In the Jaws thread on Blu-ray.com there are reports of Best Buy locations having price markers and shelf space for Jaws as if it would be released tomorrow...

either a huge mess-up across the board, or a quiet early exclusive??

I gave my local store that sku and she said they had zero in stock, zero in transit and that she could see on her system that it was the same for the entire state. I'm guessing it's a mistake.

I saw JAWS yesterday on the big screen - the new digital restoration is breathtaking. The movie was made before I was born, so I never had a chance to see it in a theatre proper, despite being my all time favourite flick. The presentation was incredible - the picture and sound were nearly flawless and I've never seen this movie look better. Seeing it in a theatre with an audience was a lot of fun and we are in for a treat when this arrives on blu-ray.

So what's the best Jaws to buy? Should I order Amazon? Wait for BB? Or order from an outside the US website?

nobody knows yet dude...I'm sure it'll be at least a few weeks until we get some clarity on what each store will be offering and for what price.

I was really hoping for a digibook...doesn't look like the U.S. is getting one or the prebooks would be up by now, I'm assuming (the one we've seen photos of is for Australia).

Is that region free? Cause in that link it says Region B, but I know Amazon has been known to make mistakes with that in the past.

I import a lot and I've never seen a Universal title region encoded.

Somewhere in this thread or elsewhere, Universal confirmed retail exclusives for Jaws. I'm assuming we will begin to start seeing final details on those towards the end of the month or beginning of August.

I really REALLY dislike that "100th Anniversary" banner. Especially on a Digi-book.

I'm highly tempted to go for the boxset with the book, if it's really Region Free and all ...

I agree. All Quiet Western Front was was spoiled by this. They should have done a wrap-around, over-the-top paper sheet that can be removed.

Nevertheless, I will buy the BB Jaws digi once it hits a reasonable price.

We've been waiting years for this title and it's hard to believe it'll be here in 2 weeks. I expect Best Buy to put the digibook on sale for at least $24.99, but hoping for around $22.99. I have a $5 reward zone certificate that I'm saving for this one.

I want the digibook as well. Hoping the price drops a little by release day.
