In The Line Of Fire Great movie. One of John Malkovich's greatest performances. He put the scare in scarey in this movie. Excellent PQ although some of the effects shots, the CGI crowds were a little more apparent when compared to the SD. The dialogue was clear however the surrounds were a little quiet.

Wedding Singer Already saw it as a rental but i picked it up last week at BB for $10 so I thought I'd spin it again. I got married in 1986 so I find it a fun movie.

Kill Bill Volume One- Love the movie, third time seeing it but first on Blu Ray and both the PQ and AQ were fantastic. Not only is it a great film, but the colors are amazing and beautiful to look at.

Extract-the very definition of a movie just good enough to not dislike. Without that cast, I'd be sending it back for a refund and telling them it skipped, so they'd cover my postage as well. Never really watched that 70's show, but saw parts of it enough over the years to know I never thought Mila Kunis was even a little hot. But, talk about transformers, she's insanely hot now. Movie looked average too.

I watched Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. A classic, to be sure, but I was way too tired during this viewing to have as wonderful an experience as I would have liked. I'll have to revisit it soon.

I just finished watching this (my second time) with my dad (his first time) and stepmom (her first time in at least 40 years, maybe more) a couple of hours ago. They were tired after rewatching The Descent with me (their first time with it and they were scared out of their wits; not regular horror movie watchers ) but the history of the movies, the quality of the BD transfers and open-minded viewings carried them through both flicks. We're still debating the whole Juno-Beth-Sarah tragedy (my stepmother is convinced Juno deliberately led the group to a danger she already knew) and whether the unrated or rated endings were best (I voted unrated in this viewing, everybody else voted for the rated one).

On repeat viewings it still feels to me like "Snow White" (a) is as big a cypher as the no-good lipglossy prince, (b) moves ultra-slow and takes forever to get through the endless night at the Dwarves' house (the 'washing before dinner' sequence is particularly painful) and (c) features mostly-forgettable songs that are annoying (my stepmom hasn't stopped singing 'My Price Will Come' since the flick ended though, so... ). But, given this is the first animated Disney movie that established many a tradition (sidekick animals/characters, sing-alongs, etc.) I can tolerate the "bad" parts. The Queen segments rule (even the animation seems to perk-up a bit during her scenes) and for my money Grumpy is the coolest anti-social animated character this side of Popeye.

We also watched Full Metal Jacket (1987) a couple of nights ago, and the results were predictable for my folks seeing it for the first time: great first half (Pyle's confrontation with Hartman caught them completely off-guard and nearly made them want to stop watching), OK second half (they really liked Cowboy) and overall great but imperfect flick. But damn, after so many viewings I had never made the connection between the speech by Hartman about Whitman/Oswald being motivated marines with sharpshooting skills and the sharpshooter in the final act of the flick. I literally felt like the 'Sucker/Jackass' visual joke in a Looney Tunes cartoon.

Last I watched was Monsoon Wedding on New Years Eve. I thought it was really excellent, and a great movie to watch on New Years Eve.

Kill Bill Volume Two- I really like the movie, just as much if not more then volume one, and the PQ and AQ wasn't bad either for the most part. The black and white portions had a lot of detail, more so then most, most being the key word, colored portions of the film. I liked how the intentionally added grain from the original print was kept during the Pai Mei training scene nicely. Overall I think volume one looked a little better, but not by much.

Kingdom of Heaven wow.... wow, both the PQ and AQ were jawdropping, watching a little bit of 'Star Trek' (2009) afterward was a letdown the audiomix for Trek was inferior to say the least.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Had to turn it off half way through due to Sienna Miller's bad acting.

I thought Rachel Nichols as Scarlet was better myself. Redheads rule above all others!

Funny People - Why did I skip this in theaters? It's easily Apatow's best film, and one of Sandler's finest performances. Fantastic movie with some sharp, witty writing and great character arcs. PQ and AQ were both solid, if not spectacular. Can't wait to dig into the extras. They really filmed 5 episodes of "Yo, Teach!"? Awesome.

I did not like this movie at all when I first watched it, but my wife loved it. Watching it a second time, I REALLY enjoyed it. I'm not sure what it is, but it did get better a second time. The only thing I still do not like is the ending, which is very rushed, and the bloated run time. Its really almost three movies crammed into one, which really ruins the pacing.

Otherwise, though, I enjoy it.

Species on Blu Ray. 1st film in the series is under-appreciated...great sci-fi creature / horror flick (nice cast too: Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen, Alfred Molina, Marg Helgenberger, Forest Whitaker, Natasha Hentsridge). I am biased though, because my bro-in-law worked on a few of the computer special effects.

Have you notices any audio issues? I read a lot of reviews saying the audio was soft and a little off. That was the biggest reason I skipped this one and bought in on DVD.

I haven't noticed any. In fact, it does seem to be better quality than the DVD's of the 1st 3 seasons that I have watched.

Guess I'll have to pick this one up later down the line then. Thanks.

Hollow Man Note to self, when a group is being pursued by homicidal maniac, make sure you all separate.

Like the flick and the rental BR was a nice upgrade in both PQ and AQ. The DC had some extra footage but I don't like the scene where he killed the dog even if it was invisible

Fighting to call this movie shitty is being kind. It was total crap. I didn't even find the fight scenes compelling. I'm pissed I put this in my queue

The Departed. Was actually the first HD-DVD I bought and it still holds up. Great flick. (still think Infernal Affairs is better, though.)
