Just watched The Mummy (1999) on BD. It's still a lot of fun after all these years.

CUL DE SAC - I was with it for quite a while initially- but ultimately I was left with a felling of "...and?". There is undeniable talent there in both the direction and performances, but the ultimate point to it all is eluding me. Still, I wasn't completely put off or antagonized by it, and plan to hold onto it and re-visit in a few years. Maybe then it will fully click.
I have a feeling this is one of those movies that, despite a somewhat indifferent first experience, will get under my skin and have me mulling it over in the days ahead.

THOSE AREN'T PILLOWS!!!

Saw this in 87 as a relative newlywed. Of course back then a date night like this would get me laid. Always watch this movie on Thanksgiving and glad to finally have a decent presentation.

Once Upon A Time In The West - Beautiful movie, but incredibly boring.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, gets better each time. Some great dialogue in that movie.

Fun film. Totally forgot that David Slade directed it.

The Lord of the Rings Extended Trilogy

Simply amazing. I think I appreciated it more now than when I first watched them.

Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale

Ehh.. It wasn't awful or anything it just kinda is. The build-up was fine but it kinda just fizzled out and didn't do anything with it.

Super 8 - Looks and sounds fantastic on BD. I like the film a lot, but some of its deficiencies became more apparent on this second viewing. The story is building up to something so intriguing the entire time, but I think Abrams didn't flesh out the alien enough. It was almost an afterthought.

The Change-Up When the first poop gag literally flies out of the baby's ass before the opening credits roll, you should know the level of humor you're about to see.

Four Christmases One of my BB $4 blus. I think you could make a drinking game out of looking for every time Reese Witherspoons' height changes compared to Vince Vaughn. It's funny because in close ups she is quite a bit taller than in wide shots. She's up to his armpit, then his chin, then to his nose, now she's short again. Drink drink drink.

Clash of the Titans: The original. My 8-year old is on a Percy Jackson/mythology kick so figured he'd get a kick out of some old school Harryhausen stop-motion animation. He LOVED it, and even leaned in next to me in fear during the medusa sequence.
