I just watched this over the weekend. I picked it up during the BN sale and I had not seen it in years. Really good stuff! I could not, however, get through that Sterling Hayden documentary. Dude was quite an oddball.

Patti Cake$...really fucking good. Very 8 Mile, which I loved, but a flavor all it’s own. I haven’t finished an entire Netflix movie in a longtime till this. Those beats and rhymes were really good.

I'm going to have to check this one out. I'm a huge Bridget Everett fan (she plays Patti's mom in this). I got the full Bridget Everett treatment at her Milwaukee show the day after the election last November, when I really needed some cheering up. And she does have very soft skin. She's awesome.

Wonder Woman (3D)...really just as thrilling the second time. the 3D presentation is pretty good too. didn't see it like that in movies, but the depth and battle scenes, especially on Themyscira, were really done well. i know this was post, but it was pretty good post and bolstered the movie that much more.

did Steve Trevor ever

I can not really remember much about the remake it has been awhile since viewing.going to try watch again this week.

Christopher Nolan directed the remake.I think it works better as A foreign film.
Stellan Skarsgård was very good.I'm going to say in this case they are both very good.
I'm not of big fan of Pacino work in the last decade or so.

Mike Mathews: It just happened, Joe. It...
Joe Hallenbeck: Sure, sure, I know... it just happened. Coulda happened to anybody. It was an accident, right? You tripped, slipped on the floor and accidentally stuck your dick in my wife. "Whoops! I'm so sorry, Mrs. H. I guess this just isn't my week."

Agreed. I missed an Alamo Drafthouse Screening of it last week (during a Program featuring films directed by or written by Shane Black), so I decided to watch it at home.

Tony Scott + Shane Black = <3

I prefer the original, for me it has a more sinister atmosphere.

Since SF appeared to have sent an uncorrected first printing of this from their sale last spring, I ended up watching it with the 5.1 track. I don't know the film chapter and verse like some other classics, so I can't distinguish what should or shouldn't be in the mix. All I can say is that I thought it was superbly done and one of the most subtle and effective 5 channel mixes for an originally low budget film that I've ever heard.

Watched Suicide Squad: Extended Cut this evening. Not nearly as bad as some of you people were saying it was, my wife and I both found it entertaining. It was just different, but not in a bad way.

Nothing like a nice little neo-noir to brighten up my day.

First ep from

I know it will be good, but this first ep just felt like setting up lawn furniture for a big event. Other than the killer opening pre credit sequence, it felt like just a lot of dog paddling in place. I was afraid I was going to binge on it quickly, but found it very easy to put away this first night after the first ep.

about the first 20 minutes from

Watched one performance past Janis' Ball and Chain- which was the first real show stopper, IMO.
Watched about half in remixed stereo which sounded good, then flipped to the 5.1 track which sounded excellent.

I could have watched the whole thing but really wanted to squeeze in another film to clear some space off the shelves for new stuff. Next time I have a yen for a late 60's film, I'll pop the rest of this in as a mood setter warm up.

Only just realized this viewing that the title is actually a play on words, and what it evokes.

Another example of why I treasure the 70's. Not a film/Bd upgrade I was actively petitioning for, but one that I was very happy to see happen. It's wonderful to have this film in such a high grade presentation.

In addition to the sharp visuals, I was very struck how good the Michael Small score sounded. Would love for one of the specialty labels to get a hold of this soundtrack.
