Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part III

Why can't they release Lost: Season 5 in September? The wait seems too long for me. I want to re-watch all the episodes already.

Burn Notice: Season 2 will be mine.

Just noticed the classic "Sword of a Stranger" is being released Jun 16.
This is too good to be true!

This post is from way back, but I understand John Hughes asked them not to include it. Ironically, Paramount ended up re-issuing the old DVD as the I Love the 80's Edition, so the track is still widely available.

Glory is coming out? Awesome! That is one of my all time favorites too! Guess it's time for me to sell my DVD edition.

It comes out the same day as Defiance so I guess I'm set for an Edward Zwick double feature!

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part III

I like that Sony regularly discounts their catalog titles at Frys to $10 to $12, easy to buy titles like Air Force One at that price.

Don't think AF1 really holds up for me, but definitely in for Glory. I was betting on it coming this yr since I just traded in my DVD.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part III

Excerpts from the HTF chat with Warner:

2009:
The Jason movies we have are arriving on BD soon, at least one this year.
CONTACT is coming out on BD this Fall.

2010:
We are DEFINITELY doing a 25th anniversary BD/SD GOONIES special edition next year.
WHERE EAGLES DARE coming to BD next year.
Branagh's HAMLET BD tentatively set for 2010.
THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES will be coming to BLU RAY next year.
THX-1138 is likely to land around the same time

2011:
MALTESE FALCON BD is an obvious choice. Coming for its 70th anniversary in 2011.

No date given:
GREMLINS BD is in the cards. Supplements are still being discussed.
NINJA TURTLES are coming on BD very soon.
We are hopeful we can re-address the LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS issues for BD, but nothing solid yet.....
EXORCIST is currently being remastered for BD by the director Mr. Friedkin AND the cinematographer Mr. Owen Roizman. No date set yet....But it will make your head spin!
HEAT is currently being remastered for BLU RAY under the supervision of Michael Mann. We hope to have it out shortly!
No Hammer [films] for BD yet...but we have hopes for those to come shortly.

Is that Friday the 13th? And if so, Paramount owns 1-8 while Warner (Newline) has Jason Goes to Hell and Freddy vs Jason. Does he mean the final 2 (and I assume the remake)?

This is what I assumed as well: Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X, FvsJ, and the remake.
