Nothing or double. This member is just as excited about this news as you. Nothing or double, Sessa.

Definitely in for "Big Trouble", not that I'm claiming dork-lust-supremacy Hopefully this release is better than the EFNY release in the U.K.

Ridley Scott's been pretty good at offering multiple cuts of his films on DVD/Blu-ray.

I just hope we get all the extras from both DVD releases as well as a 6.1(or 7.1) audio track since that's what the first DVD had.

DEFINITELY. I watched this a little while ago and the DVD just looks like ass now.

Pretty much in for all this stuff. I can live with the Gladiator DC. Not all the added scenes were necessary, but I like the one extra scene which adds weight to Maximus' line "Are you not entertained?".

Well, we never got the theatrical version of Kingdom of Heaven, not that anyone is clamoring for it or anything. Nor did we get the extended cut of Black Hawk Down.

I hope Blade Runner wasn't just an anomaly.

I was looking through the High Def Digest forums and someone posted pics of the front and back of the Grease BD.

It says Rockin' Rydell Edition and the back lists all the special features that accompanied that version on the standard defintion release.

don't get your hopes up, they're probably just confusing this with Benjamin Button.

Well, if it's really a director's cut, that should mean we'll get the original. Unless, of course, this is some new cut. I just don't know why they'd call it "Director's Cut" if it's no different from what was in theaters.

On Blu-ray, no we did not get the theatrical cut of Kingdom of Heaven(which I don't think anyone prefers to the DC) or the extended cut of Black Hawk Down(which was a marketing gimmick by Sony, not a true DC). But they are available on DVD at least.

For the movies in his filmography that have legit alternate versions however(i.e. Legend, Alien, Blade Runner), he's been pretty consistent about offering high quality DVD/Blu-ray releases for all of them.

Children of Men
Van Helsing
Red Dragon

JUNE.

Very odd to see Children of Men there...since I was sure they were gonna put a different film in its place. Plans change fast though.

Gizmo, how good do you feel about the Indecent Proposal BD release?? Have you heard anything?

I've seen it in several places listed as announced, but there are a few sites that I go to and nearly 100% after something has been announced, they've had the title listed on their site.

This news came out several days ago and I'm not seeing it there at all.

Thanks.

Its coming in June 9th I think. Don't worry about Paramount - if they announce something it will (likely) come out. They are on a roll and want to bring something like 80 catalog titles to Blu-ray this year. I think they, unlike other studios, realize that if you release a mix of decent titles you will be rewarded with sales. IF there is a delay I will let you know. They have been great about sending review copies sometimes a month before release date so if it does not arrive we will have a fair warning ahead of time.

Dexter and South Park S12 did excellent on Blu-ray so I am really hopefully we get some other TV on BD announcements soon! I think its a given most studios will release any Season One show this year IF its being renewed for a Second. So stuff like Fringe, 90210 etc.

Very happy it's there though. Terrific film. As I've said here before, also can't wait for "Red Dragon". "Van Helsing" is one of the worst movies I've ever seen so I'll pass.

Children of Men. Nice. I'm glad I never got that dreaded HD-DVD Combo disc. I'll happily upgrade on BD.

Children of Men? Interesting.

Maybe I should ditch my HD DVD/DVD Combo disc.

I'll take it. It was a decent movie but not one I'd own on BD at current prices. For the prices of HD I'd own it over a rental.

Re: Blu-ray release announcements - Part III

It will be awesome to get CoM with lossless. I already have the import BD and still have the HD DVD (for the extras). Not expecting any improvement on PQ as it looked nice on both discs.
