Shows $268. Maybe $199 in store? Is that a good player?

Quake1028 12-02-08 08:10 AM

My entire Borders order was cancelled. A hearty fuck you to them.

It really doesn't matter how long it's been since the policy expired. What matters is A) the order was placed prior to 9/1 and B) the item shipped 30 days ago or less.

I had forgotten BoB was available for pre-order that early. Most stuff I've gotten in November was not up until much later. I did get a price match on Heathers too - placed that early August.

It worked! Thanks for pointing this out!

Like other Panasonic BD players, it is an excellent unit.

My order is still listed as in process. However, there's a picture of the Heroes set next to my Sopranos order and the link takes you to the Heroes product description page. If my order does somehow make it out the door, they better not send me 3 copies of Heroes. What a bunch of incompetent boobs!

Gizmo 12-02-08 09:53 AM

My 2 copies of Royal Space and Freedom #1 "shipped' today from Borders.

Mine is halfway complete. Both the movies shipped, the "Best of HD-DVD Vol 1" got cancelled, and Planet Earth is still "In Process." That's ok though, because the 2 movies were the items I really, really wanted out of this order, the sets were just good deals I couldn't pass up.

DVD Polizei 12-02-08 04:51 PM

I noted this in the DVD Bargains area, but get both Romancing The Stone and Jewel Of The Nile on Blu for $29.98 shipped. You save an additional $5 when you buy both titles.

Thanks to Borders cancelling my order, I just gave Amazon another $30.

This is why Borders will be out of business in one year's time.

You seem surprised. Of course they would adjust them from the sale prices.... or am I missing something.

At some point I had put the HDDVD of Music and Lyrics in my cart for my daughter but then never purchased it. My notice told me the price has increased from $9.99 to $34.99

Either they think HDDVD's are now collectable, or they they are out of stock so instead of saying that they are just going with original MSRP.

Dammit. I just opened the Caspian pre-order that arrived today. I wonder if I can talk Amazon into a price adjustment?

Heroes Season 1 HD-DVD $9.99 at Fry's (San Jose).
Same for BattleStar Galactica Season 1.

Sweet Baby James 12-04-08 03:08 PM

Amazon currently has Planet Earth HD DVD for $19.99. It' $10 more expensive than Borders, but you'll actually receive it from Amazon.

This isn't that big of a deal, but I thought I'd mention that Home Alone is now $20.99 at Amazon, which is at least a few bucks less than usual (it's Fox, remember). Also, if you want that and Jingle All the Way, you can get both for $36.98. JATW is also $20.99 on its own.

Not bad, but I wish it would go down in price a bit more... though I don't know if I should wait. I would like to get these in time for Christmas.

fumanstan 12-05-08 06:04 PM

Only one of the 6 Bond movies I ordered came today, and sure enough it included the ticket for Quantum. My sticker came off ok, but I can see how it could be a problem for people. Sadly, I would want to take my GF so I need to wait for the other ones to show up.

That's just it. It felt like a little better deal because these are seasonal, so I thought I might as well get it (Home Alone) now. I'm surprised they were reduced at all.

Isn't the code good for two tickets?

Gizmo 12-05-08 09:28 PM

1 Ticket per Bond flick.

The Vol 1 and Vol 2 sets had a code good for 2 tickets.

The single release codes are only good for 1 ticket.

Don't wait to long to use your movie ticket! My copy of the Quantum of Solace movie ticket clearly states, "Valid Thru: 12/8" (Monday).

Are you sure about that? Mine says through 12/31/08 and that's what others have said as well. Meanwhile, For Your Eyes Only also shipped for me today so I should get that on Tuesday so at least i'll have 2 by early next week.
