from what I've read, there is tentative talk on whether there will be the funds to do the transfer at 4K versus the less expensive 2K route. (please let it be the former).

Hopefully you don't all think I'm nuts for being this enthused about Maniac Cop 2: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/62015/maniac-cop-2/

Cool. I have it pre-ordered. I'm hoping the 3rd looks just as good, but I'm putting off getting it for a month or two. I have the DVD of it for the time being.

...and Maniac Cop 3 is terrible: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/62031...ge-of-silence/

Bill Lustig doesn't play favorites, though, so it still looks more than a little gorgeous.

Looks mighty grainy to me. The screenshots of the 2nd seem nicer.

Just got my set of the Demons films in, here's some photos.

I've just been jumping around and goddamn, the films look INCREDIBLE.

That looks awesome, I wish I liked the Demons series. It looks like a great package.

Did you get any kind of shipping notice? How were they packaged?

I just got mine in as well. They are not sending out shipping notices (as it's just them in the office packing and shipping these out.

They were packaged in a box, with each steelbook individually wrapped in bubble wrap. Both arrived in perfect condition.

Ditto on the Demons steelbooks. Meticulously packaged in bubble wrap, both arrived in pristine condition! I originally saw this at the drive-in when it first came out, and have owned it on VHS and DVD. This special edition Blu-ray blows them all away! And the extras are incredible!

Synapse Films is releasing 'Popcorn' (1991) on BD/DVD in late 2014!

Brand new 2K-restoration from original vault materials!

Tenebre. Phenomena. Suspiria. And now Popcorn?

Sadly, these are all films I'm okay with paying $45 after shipping for as I know Synapse will do the right thing unlike the cocksuckers at Twilight Time.

Ha! I guess that fight for the rights between Code Red and that other independent group was all for naught.

Popcorn is a film I've wanted to check out, but I'm thinking it's gonna cost too much for a blind buy...

As someone who owned this film, yeah it's not worth $40. Unless there are some crazy awesome extras.

What's awesome is the head of that group, Kristy Jett (of Horrorhound Magazine), will be working with Synapse Films on this release!

Why do I get the feeling that this will add to the apparent animosity Bill from Code Red has towards Synapse?

I'm a big fan of Popcorn, I own the old DVD, and I'd gladly pay $45 for a BD upgrade.

Great news about Popcorn. My DVD is rotting, so it's nice that I can upgrade when I inevitably re-buy it.
