Zombie: Got it. Watched it. Loved it.

Looked great to me, but when I put it on pause, I could see all the "noise" or whatever. Still picture looked very bad. But while playing, it looked great (to my eyes).

I'll buy it, but is BU merely going to re-release all of their older stuff, and never give us anything new?

The Nesting was new, but I think generally, yeah, it'll be mostly re-releases from here on out. Not too long before BU issued their first Blu-ray disc, I think they said something to that effect.

Well, that's a real shame.

Meh. I'm almost positive I've got the DVD, and I still haven't watched it. I'm in agreement that I'd like to see them putting out new acquisitions rather than old titles few (?) feel like upgrading.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

Particularly when the one new title they release in an entire year is the utterly forgettable The Nesting, which was both bloodless and inept, thus making it a particularly perplexing choice. It's one thing if you want to put out technically terrible but gore-filled Fulci films, but what appeal would The Nesting possibly have? The only explanation I can think of is that, for whatever reason, someone at BU has a soft spot for it.

Man, you guys sure are harsh on The Nesting. Yea, it's not a phenomenal movie, but for what it's is, I enjoyed it well enough.

I do agree that it's a bit odd that it was thier ONLY new release. but hey, I'm perfectly fine with getting rereleases on blu since I don't own many of their flicks in the first place.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

So, guess what I was shocked to find at my door step today?

Intruder!!

Preordered a few weeks off Synapse website to get the workprint version on dvd-r, and it arrived today in a bubbler mailer. Very suprised since it's still on preorder at the website and listed as a release date of Dec 13th.

The dvd-r of the workprint version is hand numbered on the disc, mine is #12/500

If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer as many as possible. I'll take pics later tonight.

What?! I wonder if that means that mine has already shipped. Oh, now you've got me all excited, even though I know it's very unlikely that mine would have already arrived.

Well, consider yourself a little bit lucky. I'm not even going to be able to check my mailbox and be disappointed for another 4 hours! Argh!

Do you know what the date of your order was? Hopefully mine is on the way as well, they don't seem to have tracking on their website.

Did anyone else notice this post from yesterday on the Synapse website?

I guess it took a little while for word to trickle down about this offer considering it was first announced Oct. 26. Anyway, I was a little surprised to see that, but I'm happy it has been a success for them.

Checked my email, and my order was placed Oct 26th.

No tracking or shipping notice email either, thus my suprise at recieving it so early.

I placed my order on the 26th too, so it should be on its way here as well. That's cool that they're sending them out so early.

Hopefully I get mine soon. Intruder is not good...it is amazing! Also who cares if BU does all their old releases. After that they will start releasing new stuff.

What are you basing this statement on?

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

No surprise that my copy of Intruder hadn't arrived. It usually takes a day or two longer to reach me with these things. Of course, now I will be thinking about the possibility of it arriving up until the moment I get home from work tomorrow.
