Yikes. I'm sure an E-Tailer will have a good price on it come release day.

I fully expect Amazon's price to drop before release day.

From the same Fangoria article quoted in the above link:
“For THOU SHALT NOT KILL, the previous commentary [by Becker and Bruce Campbell] will be there, plus a new one with (Michael Feisher) and lead actor Brian Schulze. There will also be a documentary featuring Josh Becker, Scott Spiegel, Ted Raimi, Robert Rickman, John Manfredi, Tim Quill and others.”

Lest anyone forget Dolph, this was posted on the Facebook page for Red Scorpion back on 6/18:

'RED SCORPION' BLU-RAY coming out from SYNAPSE FILMS (later this year) ... restored and remastered and featuring longer scenes once cut from the original theatrical version. Dolph has done a commentary.

Had to restrain myself this weekend from picking up the Exterminator at the horror convention I was at. 30 bucks is just too steep to get it a little early.

It is disgusting how much these indie companies charge for their product at these conventions, people seem to have no problem paying, makes no sense, selling direct to the customers, no middle man, it should be affordable.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

I gave Red Scorpion a spin today, knowing nothing about it going in except that was directed by trash-master Joseph Zito and featured FX work by Savini (nothing too memorable save some nice work with a severed arm), and was shocked to see that it was produced and co-written by Jack Abramoff, the disgraced lobbyist! I'm guessing he won't be appearing on the commentary track...

wait I'm confused, the bluray isn't the R-rated version = is it?? the DVD edition was the unrated version - there's more gore in the workprint version - who knew??

This sounds a bit weird to myself even as I type it but it is a little bit refreshing (at least to my wallet) to have a cult movie company that I love release a blu ray of a movie that I have no interest in buying. I just don't like Intruder much at all.

I kind of agree, I thought the gore was cool, but the acting... eesh! cringe inducing

Not too familiar with the film, other than having seen the trailer (which I didn't post as it reveals the killer) - is it a comedic gore film along the same lines as Blood Diner?

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray

To me its a pretty straight forward slasher flick. A few laughs and a good kill here or there but overall not top tier body count film material in my opinion.

No, I'm sure the blu-ray will be the uncut version. However, the workprint did contain some extra gore but was cut for other reasons I'm sure(maybe the effects didn't turn out right, or the impact of the scene was diminished once it went past a certain length?).

The Dragon dvd from years ago contained the footage, and this review below mentions it(and warning, the dvd cover reveals the killer, man this film had such awful marketing, lol).

Spoiler:

http://www.sexgoremutants.co.uk/intruder.html

"Next up on the extras we are get two deleted scenes, these are in fact more snippets of extended gore from the original workprint of the movie - the first being the scene of Raimi being impaled on a hook (with a few additional frames of blood) and the second being the oft discussed head on the butcher saw scene which in the main print is shocking enough but this out-take takes it beyond that with slightly more crazy carnage!"

And for those wondering what was cut from the U.S. R version which I do own on VHS. Here is a nice visual example of all that was cut out. And naturally, the VHS box also reveals the killers identity, and also the pictures as well. So if you haven't seen the film, don't click this link

I think the film is extremely entertaining and worth checking out if you enjoy slasher films. The uncut version does have at least one really cringe worthy death scene that's just gruesome to view, but has impressive effects.

There is a pretty cool video of the Zombie restoration process that BU just posted to their twitter here.
