Heard about that one a week ago or so... thought I heard it here.

From what I understand its in direct correlation to the trouble in Japan where alot of blus are pressed.

From what I heard over from Don May Jr. at the AV Maniacs forum, the UK BD is from a 1080i source.

Didn't know that... I know it looked good but not awesome. The reviews I've now seen from Synapse are awesome. I'll splurge when the time comes.

I picked up DORM at HorrorHound Weekend yesterday. They're putting a little piece of foam in the case now to prevent floaters. Synapse rules, man!

I was at Horror Hound also but the BR prices were horrible, did you pay $30 for that Chet?

Yep, I sure did. Dark Sky's table had the SANTA SANGRE blu for $25.00 -that didn't seem too bad.

I gave the DORM disc a quick check and it looks pretty good. At first glance it reminded me a bit of the TCM blu ray transfer.

Specs on Torso:

A series of sex murders shock a college campus, and four beautiful young girlfriends head for the safety of an isolated country villa. But as they succumb to their own erotic desires, their weekend of pleasure becomes a vacation to dismember at the hands – and blade – of the lecherous maniac.

Directed by Sergio Martino (MOUNTAIN OF THE CANNIBAL GOD) and starring Suzy Kendall (THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE) and Tina Aumont (SALON KITTY), this Euro Horror chiller was originally released in America with much of its controversial violence removed by censors. Now freshly transferred in thrilling High Definition from the original negative, TORSO is presented here in its Uncensored English Version for the first time ever!

Blu-Ray Technical Specs:

* The shocking psychosexual thriller is now available on High Definition Blu-ray Disc, containing both its uncensored English Version and full-length Italian Director’s Cut!
* Beautiful new High Definition transfer from the original camera negative
* 1080p
* DTS-HD Mono
* English, Italian
* Optional Subtitles – English SDH, Français, Español, English for Italian Version
* Widescreen 1.66:1
* Region Code: ALL

Extra Features:

* Murders in Perugia – Interview with Co-Writer/Director Sergio Martino
* U.S. Opening Credits
* U.S. Trailer
* International Trailer
* TV Spots
* Radio Spot
* Poster & Still Gallery

I hate how greedy these companies are...when selling direct to the fan, you'd think they would cut you a break, but they jack the price up as much as possible.

In that case I wouldn't mind. I would love to get The Dorm That Dripped Blood early!

I remember Severin Films offering discounts at Weekend of Horrors a couple years back for fans who bought both Emmanuelle sets.

Also when I went to Cinema Wasteland last year, Fred Vogel at Toe Tag Pictures gave me a discount on a signed copy of Murder Collection Vol. 1 and gave me a signed copy of Maskhead for free. I did drop a nice chunk of change on the August Underground: Snuff Edition, but it was cool to get some love for being a fan.

I love Synapse Films, but I don't remember if there were any discounts at their table at Cinema Wasteland last year. Everything was priced normally, though they did offer a lot of OOP stuff as well as Signed DVDs.

Then again you have to keep in mind a lot of these guys are traveling out of state and bringing all this stuff. Expenses can't be cheap.

Back on topic....TORSOOOOOOO!!

I was very pleased with Inferno and I can't wait for the other blu's to come out. It's like the summer of 2000 all over again.

I asked Synapse about the status of Twins of Evil, and this was their response:

We are shooting for November or December, hopefully.
