And a small note, Costco will have this for $279 and will include an HDMI cable and a backlit remote. Better deal.
Costco carries the 350!? The only thing I ever see at Costco is a 301,is that equivalent to the 350?.
I was hoping to try to get the 350 using the $100 sony card CC deal but when I read their web site concerning the CC deal. The $100 off only applies to either Sony web site or Sony stores and so far the 350 is still $399 and I'm not sure it will qualify anyway

I already have several extra HDMI cables from Monoprice. Is the backlit remote alone worth the difference (I have a Logitech Harmony)? (I wouldn't have to pay tax from Amazon and I would from Costco - there goes another $15 right there).

i'd say the return policy alone is worth the price difference. the remote is just a bonus.

I've been patiently waiting to get into Blu-ray, and I don't want the PS3 because of the remote hassle, so this model looks pretty good to me.

Especially with the extra $50 off promotion, the $253 price was a great deal.

Good deal. So if you buy 3 WB titles, you can get the Samsung 1500 for $203?

I'm waiting on the 550 as well as Oppo's offering before I decide what to do.

Amazon.com has release dates for the following:

Panasonic DMP-BD35 ($299) - October 25
Panasonic DMP-BD55 ($399) - October 28

So that's 3 BD Live units at the end of the month.

Why? I can't find much information on the LG BD-300 but its features seem nothing special so far as I can see. It can stream Netflix, but so what? Even if one has a major broadband connection, why would one want to use a high def disc player to stream SD movies? Am I missing something?

Because Netflix has not only thousands of SD movies but SD TV Shows as well. HD content will come eventually as well.

This would be an okay promotion if not for the fact that 90% of these are available on HD DVD for half the price. If you have the HD DVD player I do not think I would buy on Blu.

I'm not going to keeping buying into a dead format just to get fire-sale prices. That's just more movies that will stop playing when my HD-DVD player gives up the ghost somewhere down the read.

So glad I have 10 backup HD DVD players.
