However, as Tracer Bullet and the featurette on the new set point out, it's not definitive in any cut that he's either a replicant or human, and the film can be interpreted either way.

Frank Darabont insists that Deckard is human and even gives a good explanation of the whole unicorn dream/unicorn origami in the Final & Director's cuts. He also gives a good argument about how the movie doesn't "work" if Deckard's a replicant.
Harrison Ford states that he fought with Ridley over the replicant/human issue, and, in his mind, Deckard was human.
Bottom line, it's up to you and what you want to believe.

Does anyone know if the there is a side-by-side comparison between the atrocious bare-bones BR dvd that came out in 97' and the new Final Cut anywhere? Do they demonstrate this anywhere on the Ultimate Edition dvd? I'd love to see that.
Also, I just wanted to add one thing about the whole Deck-A-Rep thing...The new "Final Cut" version is much less ambiguous on this controversial notion. Like the previous post above, Deckard's likelihood of being a replicant is even more strongly implied by simple editing techniques. It can, however, have a profound effect on how one views the film. I'm undecided as to whether or not this was a good move on Scott's part. Personally, I think the ambiguity of the Director's Cut is perfect. The mystery of Deckard lends to the mysterious nature of the film and its implications on morality. I don't know why Scott felt it necessary to come out and be so expository on this tenuous subject. I think it makes him more one-dimensional.

Between this and the Harry Potter fiasco, I think this is an HD DVD conspiracy.

Note that the Final Cut's images are from SD sources, so don't reflect how it looks in HD.

I have a feeling they pulled ALL bluray copies. That's why you can't find them and everything is back ordered.
I've been to several stores BB & CC included and they all have the hd versions some had the briefcases but not a single store i visited got the blu-ray case in.

I wonder how many "normal" people will actually notice?
Edit: My HD DVD Briefcase shipped from Amazon! So excited to watch this movie for the first time.

Despite the problems with the Blu-ray fifth disc, which version is best to get for someone who supports both formats? I'm neutral and I'd personally be fine if the war never ended, but I want to try to future proof myself or at least get the better version.
Any recomendations?

Mine shipped today! So excited. This is a semi- blind buy buy me. I watched this years ago when i was younger and really don't remember much. What version should I watch first? The original Us theatrical? The DC? Or the final cut?
It's almost like a Star Wars question. Every now and then you run into someone who hasn't seen any....Not sure why lol maybe they were in a bunker the past 30 years. But I usually say watch 4-6 first just because that's how it was originally aired. So I think I might go with the theatrical first but I'm up for sugg's thanks

whats up w/the fifth disc? Did they accidently put the FIFTH ELEMENT on it or something? Could I get a link?
I watched (between falling asleep due to the hectic retail schedule) the first disc and was very surprised to see the pores on Harrison Fords face. Another satisfing HDM title
