I just double checked and it doesn't say anything about a combo. It just threw me off because it was priced higher than usual.

fryinpan1 02-20-07 07:50 AM

In the first double feature release to hit a next-gen format, Lionsgate will bring the direct-to-video 'Ultimate Avengers' and its sequel 'Ultimate Avengers 2' to Blu-ray on April 24.

Oh, okay. I believe all of Paramount's new release titles have been $40 on both formats.

matome 02-20-07 10:47 AM

Yep, all of Paramounts day and date releases have been $40 MSRP on both formats. The whole whopping four of them.

Eragon on Blu-ray 3/20 listed at DVDEmpire & amazon now.

XavierMike 02-20-07 01:48 PM

Looks like we are going to get a load version of POTC on blu-ray!

Mr. Cinema 02-20-07 02:11 PM

The dvd of Pirates 2 had an incredible 5.1 mix, so that PCM track should be one of the top mixes for BD.

matome 02-20-07 02:12 PM

Yep, looking forward to the cannon fights and the triple-gun, especially since the DVD didn't have DTS this time around.

It seems like Disney is the only BD-only studio who knows how to do it right.

Keep watching the main page under new releases for the ads.

Night at the Museum BD for April 24.

Cue outraged cries of "40 bucks for a nearly barebones disc when there's a 2-disc SE DVD coming up?". :)

Now, if they could only eighty-six the stupid anti-piracy ads (I thought Blu-ray had that "extra security" that prevents piracy) and the advertisements for other BVHE titles, they'd be almost perfect.

And the 2-disc SE DVD costs 5 bucks less. But you know, 25 GB can only hold so much.

Think of how much better it would be if Blu-ray had discs that could hold more than 25 GB.

Oh, wait...

Admins: there seems to be a problem with the forum. When I edit the initial post, if I use the code tag, the entire post disappears from normal view (but is still visible if I edit it).

Adam Tyner 02-21-07 08:22 AM

There are similar issues in other threads. I'm not sure what the problem is, exactly, or what to do about it, but it's definitely being looked into.

And for some reason, die-hard BD people still could give a shit about paying that money for very little value. Studios seriously need to get their act together.
