Don't know if this was already posted but went to the movies tonight to see Superman Returns again. The medium popcorn bags had $2 off and the large had $5 off regular prices.
Probably not a big deal for most SD DVD's but I plan on using them on HD DVD's.

I ordered Manchurian Candidate and Sleepy Hollow and Amazon applied the discount automatically.
Meanwhile, I'm considering signing up for Amazon prime. Free two-day shipping will definitely pay off the price of it, considering how many HD items I'm ordering. I had a free trial before, but didn't buy in to it once the trial ended.
Edit: Ah, I went ahead and did it.

Yeah. what made me go for it was how many HD DVDs I've got pre-ordered already, and since they've already got me hooked in with the 10% off, pre-order discounts, plus triple points on my Amazon card, I thought it would definitely pay itself off. Plus, overnight shipping for $3.99 an item. So if something like Batman Begins rolls around, I can get it next day.

As much as i don't like ordering DVD's online, i went ahead and ordered 3 (Tomb Raider/Sky Captain/Friday Night Lights) from Amazon to ge the 10% off deal. Wal-Mart's "selection" fucking blows and paying full MSRP at BB is getting old quick.

All of the Paramount titles at Amazon are "ships in 7 to 12 days". I know that may change, but it seems like every HD DVD released takes them a few days to have in stock. The 19.95 price is clearly the cheapest. It's $10 cheaper than Best Buy, who for some reason is selling these at full retail price.
I tried the CD Universe $10 off deal, but I don't see the google checkout option anywhere. Is that deal dead?

Amazon changed my shipping estimate on the new Paramount titles from today to August 4. I canceled and ordered from DVD Empire. I'll pay the extra $5 if I know I'm getting it this week.

This actually might be a good thing...If Amazon sees this huge demand and cannot fulfill it, then they have to order more. It shows demand basically.
Mine still says July 27th delivery but who knows if that will change.

I'm hoping they start ordering more. It seems like they run out of their initial supply immediately on every new release (Pitch Black being the lone exception for me).

Yes, I've noticed this. The past few weeks on release day none of them are ready to ship. It's always a 7-10 day or 1-3 week schedule. Part of it probably has to due with some of the quick announcements. I'd say the Universal titles coming next month that they'll have enough since those titles were announced weeks ago in advance.
I have a $5 reward zone certificate that I'd gladly use on one of the Paramount titles at Best Buy, but those idiots are selling them at full retail. So after the discount, the price would still be $25...still $5 more than Amazon. bah
