I volunteer for a subset pick. I tried to avoid it, but I guess somebody has to do it.
I nominate:
R.I.P. Larry Cohen (1936 - 2019) God Told Me To
It has some streaming availability, and seems to be the best pick for this theme since It's Alive has already been a subset pick. It seems to have been an influence on one of my favorite horror movies, Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Cure.
I'll try to come up with some nominations in the other categories, but alyxstarr has already nominated what would have been my number one choice in Australia / New Zealand: Strange Behavior (aka Dead Kids) (1981).
