Here are a few subsets picks from me:

Kid-Friendly Horror: Monster House (2006) / Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983) / Corpse Bride (2005)

Australia / New Zealand: Patrick (1978) / The Relic (New Zealand is listed in the countries on IMDB)

Let me know if any of these works or if you need more suggestions!

Thank you both.

Thanks leaves us at 1 subset volunteer needed!

Also need three of the current volunteers to give their picks.

Once again, the remaining themes that need a subset pairing can be found here.

I don’t have any suggestions that aren’t already mentioned by others, so feel free to plug in something you like Chad.

Also, it appears that this coming Friday the 13th is also a full moon. I’ll amend my earlier suggestion to only allow F13 films to also allow werewolf films.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 15: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)

Here's what I've got for the theatrical showing subset:

  • Midsommar: Director's Cut
  • It: Chapter 2
  • 3 From Hell
  • Depraved
  • Freaks
  • Polaroid
  • Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
  • Extra Ordinary
  • The Addams Family
  • Zombieland: Double Tap
  • The Lighthouse
  • Wrinkles the Clown
  • Girl on the Third Floor (VOD only?)
  • Doctor Sleep (getting early release?)

Did I miss anything? Maybe some VOD titles that are also getting a limited theatrical release?

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 15: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)

All Hallows Eve Horrifically Hideous Hellfest / Samhain: An Evening of Celtic Horror

I really want people to suffer and watch 31 as I do enjoy a Rob Zombie film, but even I got trouble with that one so will pass on it. However, if House of 1000 Corpses have never been done before, that would be my first pick. It is my favorite horror film because it's campy, has some good actors before they "made it", and there's a lot of good 1 liners in there. And with Sid in the hospital and 3 From Hell coming out, why not. However, if it has been picked out, here's my next choices:

The Wicker Man (1973)
Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)
Trick’r Treat (2008)

By the way, is the website showing more ads this year on the side or is it maybe that I'm just using a bad laptop that the website goes slower and looks kind of bad?

Would this count as a horror documentary?

Not that it will play anywhere near me though.

*Rushes furiously to use one of the backup picks only to realize they've all already been used!* Well played, sir.

Yeah, this year's gonna be really interesting when our annual Rob Zombie discussion kicks off.

IMDB lists it as Documentary / Comedy / Horror / Mystery. I really hate the fact you have to scroll down near the bottom of the page to see the full genre listing. Why only list the first two up top?

Added.

Its only 30 hours till the start of Ft13th. Can we just rule one Ft13th movie and 1 werewolf movie count. Half the people doing this probably dont even know we're adding a day

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 15: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)

Question for anyone that's used Tubi.

Are the ads like B-Movie TV where they begin once you start the app (before the film), but the movie is ad-free? Or are they during the actual film? And if it's the latter how many commercial breaks are we talking here?

I've only used Tubi a few times but it's seemed very unobtrusive. The ads are during the movie but short, and only a couple breaks.

Thank you At the very least, we can all enjoy some horror movie legends (Sid, Bill, and Karen) while also wondering how Chris Hardwick and the guy from the Office got famous but their girls in the movie did not.

House of 1000 Corpses has lived up to it's name lately:

Matthew McGrory
Dennis Fimple
Ken Johnson
Irwin Keyes
Harrison Young
Tom Towles
Irvin Mosley Jr
Karen Black

^All no longer with us. And poor Sid had us scared recently.
