Cool. Looking over all these makes me want to go back and read them again. Only thing I have left to do is throwing in the imdb link. Should be done by tomorrow.

I'll vote for:
Christmas
Curses
Public domain
IMDB
Insects
Day of the woman

Also, I know we're voting on themes, but it looks like we're still lacking a few people for the daily subset. Don't forget to grab a spot!

Yeah, and today I discovered I have a few unopened still-in-the-bag issues from a few years back!

Yes, please! We'll be starting the subset picks soon, and it goes a lot smoother starting off with all the spots filled.

Again, only 6 more volunteers needed.

If they don't get filled and you need a few people to double up, I'll do two picks.

I appreciate it, but we'll fill the spots. We always do.

Once the discussion thread goes up that's generally around the time when the people that don't frequent the forum year-round start showing up.

The way things are going that may be the only option in the future. There could be a "R.I.P. Fangoria" theme for next year. Hope not.

We're not just limiting the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards to the winners are we? The imdb link includes most of the nominees and winners going back to the start. Some real hidden gems for each year. A challenge within the challenge would be to watch all of the nominees in a particular category for a given year. Could be a new checklist item also. Check the event history link on the sidebar for every film nominated and the Hall of Famers. http://www.imdb.com/event/ev0001163/

Thank you; very much appreciated! This is 10X better than having to deal with 24 separate links on the list.

No, it all counts. I'll include both links as Winner's Master List / By Year with Nominees.

Also added the checklist suggestion.

Here's my list of themes. I'm still playing catch-up but should be current by tonight. I love so many of these themes, but had to be choosy, so here's the list:

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night...
Happy 100th, Uncle Forry (Forrest J Ackerman)
Fanaticism (Religious) Horror
Fangoria Chainsaw Awards -
Extraterrestrial Horror:
Bloody Birthday Parties:
Period Piece Horror:
No Bones About It (Skeletons):
It Scared The Living Crap Out of Me When I Was a Kid
Insects (+ Killer Animal and Giant Monsters)
Stranger Things -&- Unconventional Movie Monsters:
Curses

I can do ballot scans to get all the nominees. I'm slightly burned out on list formatting right now.

One thing I noticed while doing the list is that the 2 winners for the 2015 BEST MAKEUP/CREATURE FX doesn't list Horns on either of their imdb credits, nor does Horns credit them. I did a bit of searching and the only reference I ever see to those two guys and Horns are other websites bringing up the award.

They did work together on a movie that same year but it was Gravy http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2822578/reference

Barnes & Noble has a 50% off Arrow Video sale going on right now, some fair deals - http://www.barnesandnoble.com/b/50-o...-rays/_/N-2jtx
This can be made even sweeter with plentiful 15% off (or better) coupon codes - http://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-bargain...-part-2-a.html

This +1; excellent work. I'm surprised the Fango awards have not been previously featured and think they'd make a great re-occuring theme/checklist item.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 12: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checkl

Looking over the Fangoria awards, I find it amusing how often a movie wins the top award and then a year or two later wins the worst movie award for its sequel. Ha, ha.

Thanks for informing us about the Arrow sale. I hope it lasts until pay day because I'm sort of broke at the moment. Ugh. The perils of paying off your car a month early.

And we're now down to a handful of subset volunteers needed. Just five more.

Whoa! Another one! I've gotta tread very lightly after going a little overboard with all the July boutique sales. Thanks, I think.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 12: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checkl

A couple questions:

1. The Christmas Horror theme is most likely going to make the cut. Since it doesn't have enough titles to be a standalone theme, would everyone be alright if we expanded it to holiday horror (excluding Halloween)? I found this 3-year-old link with 33 titles. I *think* we can get it up to the minimum 50 needed if we add some recent and overlooked titles from the list.

2. The Seances theme. Is this theme different enough from the Ghosts theme to include it as a standalone, or should we tack it on to "Supernatural & Quiet/Soft"? Just asking.

There shouldn't be a problem coming up with enough Christmas movies. I can probably name 50 of them off the top of my head.

IMDb has a list of 193 Christmas Horror titles. Although some of them probably just have a Christmas scene, and aren't actually a Christmas movie.

http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?k...ef_=kw_ref_gnr

Anyways, expanding it to Holiday Horror sounds like a good idea. That'll make it easier for everyone to find something good to watch.

While I can think of some Christmas horror, I would be fine with holiday horror to make it easier on people.
