Anyone watch/enjoy Steven Universe? I've heard vaguelly-positive comments from two people, but after casually-seeing a couple of (and hearing a dozen more) episodes, have yet to grasp the appeal. Acting, songs and plot all seem lacking... Any fans?

Just came back from watching The Secret Life of Pets. It was ok, you see the best parts in the trailer though. I did chuckle in a few places, but it gets a bit long...not time wise, but just plot wise. You're just ready for it to be done with by an hour in or so.

Thanks for the warning! A co-worker insisted I watch the trailer which I found not the least bit funny. I commented it *would* have been funny had the mixer caught the dachshund's tail as it walked away and spun *it* around. If the trailer has the "best parts" I can totally ignore the movie. My granddaughters want to see it - their brother thinks it "looks dumb."

Part of my collecting/hoarding involves the continual desire to at least partly justify it. I've long used our Challenges to do so, but don't think I've ever put it into a list-like form. So starting this month, I'll try to watch at least one item that is either a paid subscription or one of my ~10 obsessive collections. I figure that at least one monthly watch will make me feel easier about the money I spent/spend on these things, and also ensure that I constantly watch some of my favorite things.

I guess they were behind in processing orders, but my Disney order with Gargoyles, Season 2 Volume 1 was shipped out. Too bad it was too late to be able to watch Force Awakens on Blu Ray. Now I'll have the complete Season 2 of Gargoyles, my favorite season.

If you're a fan of CW's Arrow and The Flash, check out Vixen on CW Seed. You can watch it on the Roku.
It's just a short 30 minute episode. But it's a pretty good introduction to the character. Ollie, Barry, Cisco and Felicity all show up.

I just finished watching the The Croods for the 2nd time. My nieces had it and after watching I had to buy it. The second watch was just as good as the first. I have to admit, I totally teared up at the end. I did not have high hopes for it from the previews, but for once, the best parts weren't all in them! So, if you're on the fence about watching, give it a shot.

I have a quick question on completing the checklist. For the category "Watch 5 Winso Mckay Award Winners from the Annie Awards", does the individual have to do the animation for the movie. For instance, Bruce Timm is an animator, writer, director, producer, etc. If he does one of these things for an animated show does it qualify, or does it only qualify if he animates? Thanks for the help.

One nice thing about cartoons being some of my favorite kind of TV. If I'm bored with TV on Dish, I can easily do some challenge viewing. I just finished an episode of Yu-Gi-Oh!on Netflix. It's nice being able to watch the early episodes that I never saw on TV.

I am temporarily without my Blu-ray player in my bedroom so I hooked up my HDDVD player and watched Shrek the Third on it last night. It actually wasn't a bad movie for a second sequel. Those movies really know how to use borderline crude humor for the adult audience without the kids catching on. The only other animated HDDVD movie I have is Happy Feet. Is it any good?

Mostly luck! I tend to be on at night and other random times. Though I do have the notifications activated so I get emails when someone posts. There are definitely days where I'm not as available though... the beginning of next week might take me longer, just as a heads up. I'll be on every day, but probably just once a day rather than multiple.
That is a fun one. When Toy Story first came out it was not my favorite Pixar film, but it has grown on me.
I'm watching Inside Out right now. Depending on how tired I am, I might pop in Song of the Sea after. I just got that one from the library and am looking forward to seeing it.

I just discovered that Amazon Prime has all three Japanese series that Harmony Gold turned into Robotech. Just finished watching the first episode of Super Dimension Fortress Macross. It was interesting to compare the differences between the Japanese and American versions. I don't know about the other two series, but Macross isn't subtitled by default, so you need to turn on the closed captions.

Anyways, yesterday, I slacked on animation and only watched one thing but I made it count since that one thing was a rewatch of one of my favorite anime movies on blu-ray, Night on the Galactic Railroad. It was nice to see it look as good as it can after watching the previous crappy DVD many times. I am not sure if it is streaming anywhere, but this is definitely one I would recommend to people who may usually only be interested in Ghibli type stuff as far as anime goes.
