Re: 'Let The Right One In' US dvd subtitle issues
Went to both the Meriden, CT Best Buy & Target, all they had were the old copies. Has anyone seen any in the area? BluRay or SD? Can we confirm there is no change to the UPC? Because if so my BD is still wrapped and I'll just return swap it.

I saw the corrected version today at Target in Louisville too. Interestingly, it didn't leave the previous DVD subtitles on too. It just has the theatrical ones in English.

Re: 'Let The Right One In' US dvd subtitle issues
has anyone verified on this "new" SDVD release or has it been reviewed anywhere that the subtitles are indeed corrected and match the true theatrical/best subtitles for this movie?

There's a slipcover? Mine only had a lenticular sheet over the front of the DVD. My copy is still sealed in anticipation of exchanging it for the corrected version.

saw 2 corrected SDVD at 1 Target mixed with 2 old ones (none had that lenticular card). Another Target only had old ones. Best Buy only had old.

Tried a local(ish) Target today and only found two uncorrected copies. I'll try another this weekend.
Open offer to DVDtalkers: if you're out and about and come across an extra corrected copy and you're willing to buy and ship it to me, I'll reimburse you for the cost. Shoot me a PM if you're interested!
EDIT: Nevermind, found one today!

but, has anyone actually bought and viewed this new SDVD and can verify it is correct? i would hate to think about this, get it down the way and the reprint with "Subtitles: English (theatrical)" was just a sick and twisted Magnolia hoax.

So, can anyone out there with a "corrected" version confirm that is actually is so?

Re: 'Let The Right One In' US dvd subtitle issues
Since no one else seems to have, here's what little I can provide. I picked up the corrected disk (as others have mentioned, at Target of all places - Best Buy seems to be contently sitting on old stock, as is Frys) last week and watched it. I own, but have *not* watched the original "creative interpretation" subtitle version, so I cannot make direct comparisons there. Nor have I seen the original in the theater, the above viewing was my first and only experience with the film.
A couple websites, most notably in my memory iconsoffright.com/news/2009/03/let_the_wrong_subtitles_in_to.html, have already done comparisons between the original theatrical presentation and the first DVD run.
From the above "original theatrical" examples and what I *remember* from viewing the new DVD, I can state that the new corrected subtitles match. They definitely are *very* different from the dumbed down versions. But I can only state based on memory, and only against the examples shown on the website. No complaints accepted if a word or two is out of place, but what I saw on the website as original theatrical subtitles jogged exactly with memory from the DVD. And I can't say anything about any dialog not listed on the website. But I do know the general flow of the subtitles remained consistent with this more "wordy" style - if they snuck in sequences of the dumbed down subtitles, it sure snuck in under my radar.

Sure about this? I remember when selecting from the audio/subtitles options, seeing the rather interestingly worded "narrative" subtitle option. Figured that was Magnolia's double speak rebranding of their previous subtitle attempt, but I never viewed them to verify if that was the case.

Stopped in at the Newington Target & Best Buy along the Berlin Turnpike. Target had 1 corrected copy but it was in standard def. Has anyone in CT seen any corrected BD's out there? Has anyone at all seen corrected BD's or is it only standard def that is being corrected?

The stores in my town just have the standard English etc. subs. No Theatrical yet...asked a guy in BB. Told me that they do have it...it took me forever to explain this to them add on to the fact that they supposedly have the same upc. So..I'll call tomorrow and see what's up cuz..they said it'd take them a long time to unload the boxes in which it resides in...bastards.

Would have figured by now, given the number of times this question has been asked, that someone would have definitively answered it. Or even taken a stab at it.

I saw only corrected copies of the SD DVD at the Target in West Hollywood, CA and at the Atwater Village Best Buy. I didn't see a single corrected Blu-Ray though. I'm guessing they haven't sold through as many BD copies and therefore they haven't made it out there yet, dammit.
