Is Paramount co-financing the new one or not? If not, then it makes sense.

The remake is a New Line film, they got the rights post Part VIII which is why Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X, and Freddy vs. Jason never pop in boxsets. Paramount is only involved due to a few elements they still own the rights to.

In some way they are (Platinum Dunes). If I'm wrong, someone feel free to correct me.

For those interested, Part III BD in the UK will have special features (but will not be in 3D). What a clusterfuck. Looks like I'll have to keep the DVD for the 3D...sigh.

This is turning into a dvd nightmare. Is the commentary on the new US paramount release of the original the same as the previous warner UK dvd commentary?

I'm assuming the australian part 3 is in 3-D since the disc has that 3-D terror featurette. It wouldn't make sense for it to be included if it wasn't.

I only have the US boxset of 1-8...so what is the commentary you are asking about?

It's a solo commentary done by Sean Cuningham. It was on the previous uncut uk dvd.

So basically if anyone is on the track besides Sean, it's a different commentary.

The spliced together commentary track was on the Uncut Friday the 13th region 2 DVD....

Well, got mine. All the slipcovers are lenticul (spelling?). Gives me a headache looking at them. This weekend is gonna rock!

I really hope it's not that terrible spliced together commentary by Cunningham, he needs to sit down and do a real commentary. I don't know why he doesn't he does commentaries on other things like Last House on the Left!

You and me both. I can live with uncut versions, but would it be that tough to track down deleted scenes.
I've read that the alternate ending was filmed, but no one has ever seen it.

Again I don't know how confirmed that is. Seeing as the R4 has features for Part 3 that match up with the US's features for 1 and 2 (like "More Tales from Camp Blood") I wonder if the supposed featurelessness of this title is an error.

Yep, its in my hand right now. I actually watched about 20 minutes of Part III in 3D last night (gave me a slight headache). Looks like if you want Part III special features...you gotta import the UK Blu-ray.

Usually deluxe/special editions add stuff to the mix,not take them away....
I thought it was a decent track with select cast & crew,makes no sense to remove it....

I just watched F13 on BD...looks really good compared to that flipper in the boxset. Uncut deaths are real nice.

Other countries cut the films even more than the U.S. version. So most likely, the U.S. R rated version was passed 'uncut' in various countries.
