I did a little bit of research and it appears that it has added a missing title card at the start of the film. So if you want that extra title card, be sure to pick up that version *rolls eyes*

The original release of "Friday The 13th: Part 3" had a commentary? It's not listed on the back of my (unopened) DVD case.

Yeah it was in the box set, yet another reason to keep my box set. But I will be buying the first one on BD, the 2nd and 3rd one, plus I will also be buying the 3rd one again from Australia. And the documentary too!

I'm buying 1 & 2 also plus the My Name is Jason doc....
3 isn't worth getting since it has no features & 3D usually looks like shit on DVD....

I had no idea that there was anything additional on that box set. I'm kind of glad I didn't know, as I might have been tempted to buy it.

Damn. I went to Second Spin in Newport Beach yesterday and someone had returned what must have been their review copies of F13th and pt. 2, but no BD of part 1 and no part 3. I thought I might get lucky a little early. Looks like they also traded in the Bourne collection on BD if anyone near there is looking to grab that one early.

Unless I can find it really cheap later on. Then I may give it a try anyway.
So now it's down to Part 1 & 2 on release day.

Does it have to be the crappy Red-Blue Paper glasses? Would it work if I used the 3-D glasses I got from seeing My Bloody Valentine?
I tried watching a 3-D episode of Medium a year or so ago with the Red-Blue glasses and honestly the effects didn't look that great and were barely noticeable.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?
The theatrical release of FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3 was polarized (clear glasses) but the new Paramount DVD is an anaglyph (red/cyan) conversion.
If you want to see something which more closely approximates the original theatrical version, there are field sequential versions for shutter glasses out there.
I'd imagine there will be a higher quality re-issue in 3-D on Blu-ray in a year or two when all the new home video 3-D tech hits the market.
In the meantime, no, you can't wear poalrized glasses to watch an anaglyphic version.

I believe so. I think Paramount considers the 3-D version to be a "bonus feature", hence the lack of any actual bonus features.

Has anyone been able to preview the quality of Part 3's 3-d? The 3-d versions I've seen on dvd have looked terrible, but I'm sure thats because they weren't legit releases.
