I like the theatrical edition's cover art quite a bit more than the Unrated version I think:

So from what I gather, the unrated and the R rated dvd's are going to be completely different cuts of the movie and the R rated is foolscreen only and the unrated widescreen only? Who's the marketing genius that thought this up?

Wait, before I freak anyone out, I think the rated R copy will have both full and wide on it. A few of the online stores I checked first only said full but I've found a few that say both.

From online listings I've seen the Theatrical version 2-disk set will have both Widescreen and Full screen versions in it.

Does anyone know of a site that lists which scenes are included in each DVD version in relation to the workprint and theatrical release? I'm not very concerned about deleted scenes in the extras but more for the actual cut of the movie.

I just came here to pose that question myself.

Anyone heard anything on it?

Honestly, I think all of the artwork for this film is pretty crappy. I think they should have just started over from scratch.

Everyone's been trying to figure out what the hell the exclusive is. As much as people think it's a steelbook, there's no way they can charge that much extra just for a steelbook.

It's very possible that it's a steelbook and the price will drop. I'm pretty sure both Grindhouse steelbooks were $29.99 at first.

Well, according to Speedy's BestBuy thread, it list's the 2-disc unrated edition at 19.99 with exclusive 3-D packaging. Minimum of 10 per store.

3-D packaging? That's the best they could come up with? I was hoping steelbook, or a figure, or a poster or something. I guess it could be kinda cool.

Proof that the Theatrical cut is both Wide and Fool-screen.

They should of included both versions of the film together, since it is a directors cut and has more new scenes then the usual "unrated version" dvds that come out.

And now that the non anamorphic Halloween 6 is OOP, maybe we will get an official H6 Producers cut release! They sure sell a ton of the bootlegs on eBay.

Read Fangoria's website lately? Daniel Farrands is talking to Disney about letting them release or license out H6 to do an ultimate edition that would include both cuts of the film, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage and more. I really hope they get the OK to get it done.

wait now I'm confused: the Washington Post today denoted that this is an unrated version of the film, yet the provided back cover states it's R-rated - ??

I find it interesting that its listed as "widescreen version" and "standard version" instead od "Full Screen" maybee this is a sign of things to come.

That's the back cover to the theatrical version, thus rated R. There is a seperate Unrated version.

And as far as I know, fullscreen has always been referred to standard.

I've tried to figure it out as well as I could, and I'm sure it's been answered, but what exactly is the difference between the Unrated and Rated versions...I saw the workprint, but not the version in theaters, so please don't post anything that will spoil the movie...However, is the only difference the escape?

Looks like Best Buy will have the 2Disc Unrated Director's Cut with 3-D Packaging for $19.99

Circuit City will have the 2Disc Unrated Director's Cut with a bonus disc of 45 minutes of bonus features exclusive to Circuit City for $17.99

Doesn't look like any other stores have a bonus gift with any of thier dvds, if anyone knows of any then please let me know.

I will definitely go for the 3d packaging but would like the bonus disc from Circuit City, hopefully you can get the bonus disc with the theatrical version then i don't have to double dip. And yes I LOVED this movie, I prefer the workprint but the ending in the theatrical print was the best, so i hope the director's cut combines them both.

I'd really like to have that third bonus disc, but the nearest Circuit City is about 30 minutes away and I'm not sure if thats a worth while drive or not...
