Where is the autograph on the Hot Topic version? I should punch myself in the nuts for thinking about spending $45 on this movie that I haven't even seen all of yet (I'm actually in the process of watching it now), but it would be kind of cool if it's on the paper cover to have a) the BB 3-D slipcover over a Rob Zombie signed cover with the CC bonus disc inside.

My Hot Topic has 3 of them left. I already opened my copy from Best Buy so I passes on it.

The autograph is under the shrink wrap and is on a paper insert that sits above the case. you can slide it under the plastic so that it looks like the real insert. Very nice dvd for a great price

Well this is funny I picked up the UR version at Walmart and it came with the CC bonus disc. They even had a sticker on the front saying it was from CC.

it's funny that Danielle Harris is 30 and yet still looks like a teen. a very cute teen at that. she really has aged very well since Halloween 5.

Here is a picture I took of her in 2002 at The Chiller Convention she doesn't look like she aged a bit.

Just watched this...

VERY enjoyable film. I don't see the why people have issues with it.

can't speak for others, but I really disliked the second half of it because it completely played out of order and differently than the way the original did (and IMO, it worked so much better in the original too.... what happened to perhaps one of the main characters in this compared to the original franchise was unforgivable without spoiling much). I think they should've just made it a prequel that fleshes out the early years, instead of bastardizing one of the most beloved horror movies of all time. I enjoyed the early years (even tho I felt like Zombie trashed them up too much, the Myers looked like upstanding people in the ten seconds we saw them in 1978, not the worst white trash possible) but once Laurie and friends entered the storyline, I hated it because it screwed everything we know and love up. In the original, the audience grew to love and be protective of Laurie, and admired the strength and convictions that Loomis had at trying to stop Myers. In this version, there was nothing that stood out about Laurie, she was bland and unoriginal, and McDowell tried, but nobody but the late Pleasance could nail Loomis. Same with Brackett too, Brad Dourif is a great actor but he was nowhere as good as Charles Cyphers was at the same part. Even the victims like Linda, Annie and Paul were much more likable in the original. The only thing I liked was seeing Danielle Harris.

Not for sale, Blockbuster rents a one disc version with deleted scenes and maybe a commentary.

The thing is, people are comparing this too much to the original. The idea behind the first film, is a Meyers we don't know a whole lot about, why he got the way he was, and therefore, he had a mystique about him that made him even creepier.

Other people were scared by Meyers on the watered down aspect that 'he wasn't some demon, he was just a serial killer'.

This new movie is entirely different and we always knew it would be. It was going to show us exactly how Michael came to be the killer we knew him to be. He was also, just a man in this newer version. But this version follows Michael from a child, to when he does the infamous killing with the white mask. The original, followed this story from the perspective of Laurie Strode. Why should we focus more on Laurie when Michael was the focus in this new version?

Now, granted, the original is still my favorite and it's because yes, it does much better at building up character development and the payoffs were bigger in the end. I think following this from the perspective of mostly Laurie Strode, worked out better than the last half of the new Halloween. But being that way before the new movie was even released, and I knew what to expect, I wasn't really let down. I think Rob Zombie's Halloween is the best since the original.

And yeah, I'll also agree that they 'trashed up' that family too much.

Agreed. I think Zombie backed himself into a corner when he tried to "humanize" Michael in the first half of the movie. By exploring his past, Zombie sets up an emotional connection between Michael and the audience which has NO payoff in the second half of the movie when he is stalking Laurie. **SPOILER** When Michael shows Laurie the photo of them as children and she says she "doesn't understand" Zombie never bothers to tie this important plot thread up--Michael simply drops his knife, rushes Laurie, the two go off the balcony, then...what? She screams, shoots, and kills(?) Michael without knowing anything about her relationship to him? WTF? With the audience having no emotional connection to Laurie (or even Michael) at this point in the movie, what exactly was Zombie trying to say? This certainly was no "homage" to the original that he claims he wanted to respect in his "re-imaging" of Carpenter's story. Hell, the audience gets less than one line of dialogue explaining how Laurie was even to become adopted so how did Michael even know who or where she was? While I certainly don't find Zombie a hack, he still hasn't matured as a writer/director. Perhaps he should have someone else write his material or at least have others offer some valid suggestions when "re-imaging" a classic.

Finally picked up this movie tonight.

I wish I could've found the Hot Topic Exclusive (autographed) copy but I had no luck at all the stores I checked. Oh well.
