Now that is some horrible artwork, guess it's trying to mimic the movie. Still gonna get it though just to complete the collection.

I can smell a place like Best Buy selling the 1-discer for about $15 and the 2-disc for about $25. Don't forget, the price listed on that site is the MSRP, but there is no way they will be selling it for that much.

Weak ass cover art. At least change it up for the single and 2-disc releases. Oh well, guess they're saving the good artwork for the eventual double-dip.

In the minority on this one. I really enjoyed it. I agree that it doesn't match the greatness of the first two, but I wasn't disappointed.
Now, the cover art is another matter. The single-disc is fine, but the 2-disc is terrible. That border doesn't work at all. Scaling the single-disc artwork down might have helped. As it is, the 2-disc just looks lazy. Borders seem to be a delicate business.

So they're trying to force everyone to buy the BD trilogy?

The thing is, the 2-disk edition should be available for $15 opening week just like Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 two disk editons were.
The studios have found a weakness that they are exploiting and this seperate 2-disk shit is really pissin me off.

Best Buy better be offering a steelbook or something. Because I was on the fence with this movie as it was and combine that with high prices and truly horrible artwork so far this is a no go. Even though I thought it was the best blockbuster movie of the summer.

There was a mention of gift (the 3-pack) set by Sony Home Entertainment Press Release:
"CULVER CITY, CALIF. (August 3, 2007) – Spider-Man™ 3 becomes the home entertainment event of the year when Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) releases the international blockbuster on DVD October 30, in time for the holiday gift-giving season. Spider-Man™ 3 will be available in several versions for fans to collect including a single-disc release, a two-disc Special Edition release, PSP, and a three-pack DVD release which will include Spider-Man™ and Spider-Man™ 2 on DVD with collectible O-Ring packaging. Also available is the Spider-Man™ High Definition Trilogy, a three-pack release of all three films on Blu-ray™ High-Def allowing fans an exclusive opportunity to collect both Spider-Man™ and Spider-Man™ 2 in high definition, along with Spider-Man™ 2.1 and Spider-Man™ 3. "
And for the others who are wondering what the heck is an "O-RING".. its a Sony marketing term for this type of DVD slipcase:

And for those who can't wait to get a SpiderMan 3 Collectible
This is so far the one which is out (The first Blu Ray Exclusive and Limited Edition release):

Wow, that cover art sucks. I would have expected a lenticular slipcover of the red suit changing into the black one, much like the theatrical posters people were paying $1000+ for on ebay. Regardless, this movie was awful and it's going to take a lot for me to resist buying it as I'm a completionist.

Pretty awful Artwork for the 1 disc DVD vr., The 2 disc DVD looks a little better, but not by much. You think Sony would make the Artwork for the Blu-Ray HD Spider-Man trilogy a little nicer than that. It feels like Sony is embarrassed that they are releasing Spider-Man 3.
