I thought that the webisodes were awful. People just took their spiderman toys and made a home movie. Goodie. Overall, I would still take the 2-disc over the 1-disc. And if the 2-disc and 3-disc are the same price, might as well get the 3-disc.
Thanks for the info. Doesn't seem like the 3rd disc is really worth the extra cost at HMV I guess. I still have that bonus disc from Spider-Man 2 that is pretty useless. I guess I'll stick with my steelbook.

DVD FINALLY arrived in the mail today from Amazon U.S., since I refuse to buy any bilingual canadian crap ever again. Sure it took a week, but it wasn't any more expensive or anything. My experience with the recent bilingual "CSI" series TV DVDs has shown me that it's not just an issue of packaging, but quality since shoving an additional french language track on usually makes the video compression even higher. At least with this film they were smart about it, and simply replaced the spanish tracks and subtitles with french ones.

Still, the U.S. version doesn't have "La versión española incluyó" on the cover...hell no U.S. DVD has that and they all (I think) have spanish tracks! If only the damn canadian-made DVDs were made by people who actually gave that any thought....

It comes inside the DVD case itself. There's the overall cover, then the slipcover, then the DVD case. If you had the VH1 Disc with Spidey-2, it's exactly like that, in a plastic sleeve inside the case, where the inserts are.

It's inside the case with the other two discs. It's in a plastic sleeve.

Has anyone watched the extras on the Target exclusive bonus disc? Are they worth getting it from Target just for this disc?

IMO no. Most of the extras on the disc deal with a Target contest in which constants had to make mini-films about Spider-Man. I found most of the clips to be pretty unwatchable. There's also a behind the scenes featurette that covers the movie, nearly all of which is covered on the second disc of the Special Edition, often in more detail.

I dove through disc 2 yesterday and most of the stuff was kind of boring. Like the love triangle featurette...you get all that from watching the movie. Too much explaining character arcs, blah blah blah. Can't wait to watch the film again, but compared to the stuff on Transformers and the Kubrick set, thumbs down.

I didn't get the TARGET disc, mostly because the fan-made stuff didn't appeal to me and people were saying it was crap. I opted for the WAL-MART bonus disc, and a quick return of the still-sealed single-disc version (sans cool lenticular slipcover, which I kept) got me the 2-disc version for just a few bucks more... well worth it. The webisodes didn't turn out to be massively interesting, but for anyone who watched them online, now you can have them on a real DVD (although be warned, they also tread a lot of the same ground as Disc 2). It was nice that the bonus disc had it's own case, and the lenticular slipcover only came with the side-by-side set, so that made my decision. Hope that helps you.

FYE in the mall has there Spiderman 3 Poly-Resin Figures for .49 to .99

Seems to be national but YMMV of course. Mine were not marked down. Just have them scan it up front if you aren't sure. There are 2 different full size figures One Reg Suit and one in the Black Suit. The other one is just a bust of the regular spiderman. Pics to come.

Okay, I apologize if this has been covered, but just popped in the Spiderman 3 WS DVD that my son got for Christmas into my Toshiba A2, and thought to myself, kind of funny watching a Sony DVD on my HD DVD player, and then I got the wonderful message about the content not being allowed to be upscaled and that it will only present in 480P. Now of course I know Sony has Blu Ray, and of course would not release their movies on HD DVD which makes good sense on their part, but they don't even allow it to be upscaled? How bad does that suck? Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a Sony thing to keep their Standard Def DVD's from being upscaled so people buy Blu Ray? Do other studios do this? And is there any way around this?

Wow, I've never heard of that... that seems like a really low blow for Sony.

Okay, I must have been imagining things... I could have sworn I saw a message stating that the content could not be upscaled, and would default to 480P the first time I played this, but I started it again and did not see the message. Then I remembered my player has the capability to display what resolution its playing in, and it says 720P just like I have it set for, so I guess either I got into one of the special features or was imagining things when I thought I saw the message... Sorry for the rant earlier.

I finally got around to watching Spiderman 3 on dvd today and I was really pleasantly surprised. Maybe I was biased by the reviews at the time. But when I saw it in theaters, I thought it completely sucked.

I admit that the "strutting" scene and the "jazz club" scenes still suck. But I pretty much loved the rest of it.

I finally got around to watching the DVD of this. I didn't see this brought up, but did anyone notice that in the trailers section, trailer 1 & 2 are the same? Might be a goof on the production of these discs. Right after, I popped in Superbad and noticed it has the missing trailer for Spidey 3 so I'm not too upset.

My trailers are not the same in that section, so that's kind of weird.

I noticed they were the same as well, but didn't think anything of it at the time.

Just to clarify, the trailer section has 4 trailers. One's labeled "Teaser", another is "Trailer 1", another is "Trailer 2", and the final one is "Trailer 3".

The teaser is the one with the words coming up on a background resembling the texture of Spidey's costume. Trailer 1 & 2 on my copy are the same trailer that starts with vague shots of NYC with a pounding noise in the background before Spidey swings in. The final trailer starts with Eddie Brock in the church.

The missing trailer not on my copy of the DVD starts with Peter and MJ lying on the web at night in the park. There were actually two versions of this trailer released with a few shots swapped out towards the end.
