Yup, my key only down to a certain year. There is a limit on how many colored blocks can be displayed in the key.

I have just begun using DVDProfiler 3.0. I have restored my collection of over 1800 DVDs. I love the new look and services but I have been experiencing some bugs. (I believe)

Personalization Data

Once a DVD is added to the library I cannot change the Personalization data. I make the change on the Modify Personal Data dialog and hit OK but the data does not change. Worse than that I think for some data elements like the "Purchased Date" it changes the info for a different disk normally near the highest Collection Numbers. I am going to hold off on changing Personalization data until this is fixed. Changing Tags does seem to work though and I can remove the DVD from my collection and reenter the Personalization during that process and it works.

Online Collection

Many of my DVDs do not show up in my Online Collection. They are simply just missing. I have the Show Adult titles turned on so it is not that.

Changing UPCs

I have begun to fix my UPCs that did not convert. During some of the changes (not all) it will change the UPC of the DVD next to it in the collection.

These are the main problems I am having but not all. Let me reiterate that I love the look of the product but I am concerned about the future of my database. I have already added about 50 titles to the 3.0 database so I have not way of completely going back to 2.5. The concern is that I know much of my personalization data for some DVDs has been changed incorrectly and I don't know which ones they are due to the nature of the bug. I hope some fixes get implemented soon.

They've already released an update version, it sure looks like the next one is going to happen sooner rather than later.

Have you updated to the new 3.0.1 build 1104? if not, then do that right away as it has addressed many of the bugs with 3.0.0. I know I had trouble with some of my personalized date with 3.0.0 but not with the newest version.

Just upgraded and finally paid for this great peice of software.

One thing I would like to do is list each title of a boxset as a seperate number. I have imported my collection but it just shows the boxset as one dvd.

Can you change this?

Same here. Love the look of 3.0 and knowing that I'll be covered for any updates in the future.

Can someone please explain to me why I should fork over $30 for this when Intervocative 2.4 is still up and running and functioning quite well?

Well if you've already paid for version 2.4, then it costs nothing to upgrade.

If you haven't upgraded, I'd say the whole user interface is much better than the old version.

So far it's still being kept up fine.

I'll switch when I have to since it's a hassle for me to get the CSV I use from the new one (someone who knows XML may find it easy, but I don't so I have to import the XML file into Access then make a query to get the fields I want, then export that to excel).

I'm loving the new profiler. There are a couple of titles I have where no high-res scan has been done. Do users do this and send it in for them to approve? I have the Widescreen RATED version of 40-Year-Old Virgin and there's no pic available.

Yes, Mr. Cinema. You can scan it and contribute it to the database.

I just paid for it, but no registration key..hmm... how long did it take for one to be sent to you guys...

I have a question as well, in the old version, there was always a topic for accessories in the charts and graphs, but I could never figure out how to input them, was that a feature they never added, or since i used the free version, was it not something i was able to do...

I paid well before 3.0 came out and enjoyed the hi-res scans and no ads. Plus I thought the software was cool enough to pony up some money as a way to tell them "thanks for doing this".

For the price that's less than most boxsets, I considered it a bargain for a lifetime membership.

I was wondering that as well. Looking through the forums it looks like it doesn't get sent until the Paypal goes through on their end which could equate to a few days.

I had three titles that didn't convert. How do I change them? I assume it has something to do with changing the UPC codes.

One of the titles is a Japanese import that had a 12-digit code I typed in myself anyway. Is it always going to be flagged?

One more thing: there's a file called backup.dpb.bak on my hard drive as well where the backup.dpb file is. Can I just delete this, or is it important? 55 MB isn't much these days, but it's not trivial either. Is it the previous backup file before conversion for 3.0, or just a backup of the current backup?

That has absolutely no bearing at all on "how great this program can be". It's irrelevant.

Try using the disk ID and see if that will unflag it.

If the seperate titles in the box sets have upc's you can enter that way, if not you will have to enter using disk id.

Okay, I've looked again and now I can't find the flags. What I did was just remove the titles from the collection and enter them in again with the longer UPCs. Two of them went in fine. The other, I'll just have to manually enter everything. It's a Japanese Blu-ray Disc with a 13-digit UPC. I don't know what region to check, since Japan and the US are Region A for BD. I just left it as Region 1.

Speaking of BD/HD DVD, this program could use an overhaul for accomodating HD discs. NTSC and PAL don't apply, and neither does anamorphic enhancement. Even the name "DVD" Profiler isn't correct because BDs are not DVDs. It would also be nice to have info about the video codec and other audio tracks not found on DVDs. I guess we can't hope for too much in the transition phase though.

One thing that bugs me a little now (I think this is new to the latest version) is that they have a purchase date that automatically enters itself even though I uncheck "prompt for personalization" every time. I don't track purchase dates, prices, etc., and it's kind of annoying to have to clear it each time.
