JLyon1515, that isn't a custom cover for The Departed, that is the Steelbook edition that was sold at Best Buy.

I was playing around with the free version, and I'm most likely gonna plunk down the money for it.
My question is, is there a way to manually override the ABC order when viewing the movies. For example, say you have Meet The Parents and Meet The Fockers, Meet the Fockers would obviously go first, but is there a way to put it after Meet the Parents, since it's the sequel?

Yes, you can personalize all titles with individual "sort" titles that are only used for sorting. For example, I changed the LOTR theatricals to Lord of the Rings 1.1, 1.2 & 1.3 and the Extendeds to 2.1, 2.2 & 2.3 so that they'd show up in the order I wanted them to.

Ahhh, I see, I must have missed that edition. Still though, it's interesting that it says "Custom" in DVD profiler... I guess I mistakenly thought it was referring to the cover, not the case.

but, isn't there one database where they are all stored and no matter what version you have it will be uploaded. i bought the premium and i don't like the fact i won't be able to go any further with 2.5. that is where all my dvd's are listed...

I'm still mad that after paying 3 years ago I never got a registration key for the program, despite multiple emails.

No. There are now two databases. The old one is owned by Intervocative and works with 2.4/2.5. The new database is owned by Invelos and only works with 3.0. That database also started out empty last week. It's currently being re-built by people submitting what they have in their collections.

I personally like 3.0, and I was using 2.4 and 2.5. I have had no difficulties with things not being in the database or such.
Make the switch...it's easy.

so do you guys actually maintain 2 separate versions of DVD Profiler until the latest version's database is fully restored?

i was thinking of backing up my current database of profiler 2.5 and upload that into the version 3.0 - would that work? my current link in my sig is down and i was thinking of a quick fix for this.

after restoring my collection to ver 3.0, i was afraid that i might be missing some titles... so should i wait till the database for ver 3.0 is fully restored?

i am a premium member, btw

I'm paranoid, so I'm maintaining both versions, BUT I'm extremely happy with 3.0 so far -- I backed up my 2.4 and uploaded that into 3.0 and no titles were lost (out of 832 records). I had 16 with problem UPCs, but that's it.

i am not maintaining both. i upgraded to 3.0 without any problems (except for a small amount of UPC errors). i can say i am pretty happy with the newer version.

My fingers hurt. It's so hard typing in a 12 digit number! Whatever will I do?

I just converted over to 3.0 and Restored by Collection of 1790 DVDs

I am having some problems and I was wondering if anyone else is seeing them.

When fixing the UPCs for some of my DVDs, it somehow changed the UPC for the DVD next to it in my list with the old UPC number. Very strange.

Also, the Online Collection doesn't have all my DVDs listed when I upload it. For instance 1796 and 1794 are missing even though it lists 1795 and 1797.

Very strange. Hopefully just some kinks in the upload process.

Make sure the missing DVDs are not tagged as "Adult" in the database. Often that is the key to missing profiles. Or you can just set your online database to display adult titles.

May not be the issue, but its worth checking.

I had that happen with a couple of mine...for some reason, Sexy Beast ended up tagged 'adult'. Talk about judging a book by it's cover...

i am a paid user of DVD Profiler for the last 2 years now. I really like this new 3.0 version, the whole thing just looks so much better and seems to work faster and smoother. Paying for the program was money well spent and I am a firm believer in all things free so its really saying something that I was willing to pay for it.

boot times seem to be a bit quicker than the older version. the program as a whole seems more responsive.

Yes, I was gonna mention the same thing that the speed has increased. Also, even though I don't use 'em often, the charts and graphs look better.

Love the update, was cautious about updating but am completely glad that I did. Looks great, and only had 6 UPC errors, which I fixed easily enough.

Question: on the graphs, anyone else unable to see past a certain point on the key on the right side where it shows how many DVDs you have in certain years? I have over 1000 DVDs so it spans from the early 30s to today...

But, I still like the release and well worth the money.
